warranty department.

• Arrange for collection from engineers of faulty parts, book in, and arrange for inspection
of parts and subsequent return to supplier / manufacturer
• Arrange with suppliers for speedy inspection and report of reason for fault, repair and
return of replacement items.

Well established IT Company, ICM (subsequently taken over by Phoenix) were known for
providing disaster recovery and overall support for any IT need. I worked for the logistics team
• Source and procure PC and electronic components from a network of specialised
suppliers to cover SLAs. Raise any purchase orders.
• Check outstanding orders daily and expediting any over agreed delivery dates
• Check inventory of faulty stock and arrange repair with workshop as required – Evaluate
stock levels and usage for consumable items, order replenishment stock, arrange for
sale or disposal of redundant stock
• Find potential suppliers and assess their suitability to company needs (lead times, stock
availability, costs etc.) –
• Ensure parts were delivered in time and to the correct location - Ensure all stock records
were up to date and correct. Arranging counts and investigating any discrepancies
• Check various manufacturer websites for warranty on equipment. Raise claim for faulty
parts and any necessary paperwork entering relevant job or reference numbers.
• Arrange for return of any faulty parts if necessary and any credit notes or RMA’s
required. Enter details of fault and any reference numbers on return paperwork.
Whilst at ICM, I worked with a team who tracked down the reason a major manufacturer had
issues with a component. They tracked the source at their end and it resulted in them saving
£250,000 a month and as a result, we were awarded a major service contract with them. We
also achieved number one warranty service provider status for all the major PC manufacturers
through hard work and product knowledge.
