1. Mentor/Mentee Agreement
The main purpose of the mentoring program is to introduce our new members to the
Chapter. You are their friend, teacher, and guide for their first semester in Sigma Phi Epsilon.
You are accepting the responsibility to teach them about the Fraternity, help them acclimate
to college, and be their first impressionwithin the chapter. The mentoring program is intended
to develop our new members into good college men and balanced men in Sigma Phi Epsilon. A
greater focus needs to be placed on mentoring this spring. The Mentors too are intended to
grow from this experience to become the best leaders and role models they can be, in
preparation for taking a little in the future. You are expected to communicate with the mentor
chair/Sigma coordinator and hold your fellow mentors accountable to fulfill your full
responsibilities as mentors.
As a mentor you’re responsibilities are as follows:
o You are their friend and role model in the fraternity
o Retaking and passing the Sigma Test
o Mentors attend 2 Sigma meetings
o Teach your mentees about the fraternity
 Help them prepare for the test
 VDBL
o Meet with Mentees 2 times a week
o Be accessible and willing to help your mentees with school or the fraternity
o Mentors are expected to hold one another accountable
o (Optional) Bonding night (all mentors/mentees)
Mentees are responsible for the following:
o Work to meet with their mentors
o Attend all Sigma meetings
o Prepare for the test on their own
While you are in the mentor program you have support and assistance from VP of Member
Development, The Mentor Chair, past mentors, and most importantly the other mentors.
Communicate with and help each other fulfill their responsibilities.
The consequences for poor mentoring or failure to fulfill your responsibilities as a mentor are
as follows:
You CANNOT become a Big.
Subject to write up to standards for violating your membership agreement
Social Probation
Additional Possible consequences
Lose the privilege to take a mentee in the future
