Mental health exists on a continuum, with mental disorders like depression and anxiety on one end and positive mental health and the ability to reach one's full potential on the other. The goal is to help people move up the continuum through interventions. Maintaining good mental health means being resilient, in control of one's emotions, confident, and able to build good relationships while coping with difficult times and feelings. Stigma can prevent those with mental disorders from seeking treatment due to lack of understanding, fear of disclosure, and uncertainty around getting help.
