SEEK THE LORD

1) Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, allowing soldiers to arrest him.
2) When a disciple drew his sword to defend Jesus, Jesus told him to put it away, as he could call legions of angels but his arrest was part of God's plan fulfilled in scripture.
3) Jesus' suffering and death were foretold in the Old Testament by prophets like David, Isaiah, and Zechariah to atone for humanity's sins, and he was forsaken so that souls may be freed from hell.
Judges 4b
God used a woman with a hammer and nail to bring down the mighty and proud general Sisera. He can use you or me to accomplish His Will.
Secured Secret - What Might It Be?
Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Psm. 85:11-12 NKJV
1 kings 8e solomon's blessing

Faith That Goes Beyond
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6. When we act with faith that goes beyond our abilities and resources, we please God. There will be times when we will face obstacles that appear to be too big for us to handle on our own. Like the Israelites on the edge of the Promised Land, God will give us opportunities to increase our faith by allowing us to participate in His plans. Sadly, the Israelites focused on the obstacles and their abilities rather than on God’s plan. Faith compels to focus on His vision. Faith says, “I believe God will do this… and I’m putting my trust in Him with faith that goes beyond.”
Jesus defined faith that goes beyond the senses, including sight: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29)

Life is a trust
No matter how bad you have been hurt in your past, and no matter how many people have hurt you in your past BUT you must now learn to fully trust God with both yourself and with your entire life.
Matter of the heart
The document discusses the importance of having a heart that is devoted to God in order to be a good leader. It describes how Saul initially started well as king but failed because he did not fully keep God's commandments. In contrast, God found David to be a man after His own heart because David was entirely submitted to God's will. True obedience and leadership comes from having one's heart aligned with God's through developing a close devotional life with Him.

The Grecian Jews complained that their widows were being overlooked in the daily food distribution. The disciples chose seven men to oversee the distribution, including Stephen. Stephen performed great wonders and signs among the people, angering religious leaders. When falsely accused of blasphemy, Stephen delivered a speech defending his faith before the Sanhedrin and was subsequently stoned to death, with Saul approving. A great persecution followed against the church in Jerusalem.

3) Key events discussed include the appointment of tribal leaders, rebellion against God at Kadesh, 40 years of wandering, battles against Sihon and Og that led to territorial gains east of the Jordan.
God gives His People Jericho
1. God instructed Joshua to march around Jericho with armed men for six days and seven times on the seventh day, blowing rams' horns. On the seventh round, the people were to shout and the walls would fall.
2. Joshua obeyed God by marching as instructed with the priests and ark. On the seventh day, when the people shouted, the walls fell and Israel took Jericho.
3. Those who believe God will humble themselves, acknowledge God's holiness, and walk in obedience, as Joshua did, while those who do not believe will not submit to God's authority.
The Clarion Call to Trust God - Joshua 11
Joshua and the Israelites faced a large coalition of enemy kings who gathered together to fight against them. However, God assured Joshua that he would deliver all of the enemy into their hands. The next day, Joshua and his warriors surprised the enemy forces and, with God's help, utterly defeated them as God had promised. Joshua then carried out God's commands to fully conquer the land and its inhabitants, demonstrating his complete trust and obedience to God.

Turning Failures into Faith
How a person handles failure can mean the difference between living a life of victory or living a life filled with bitterness, hostility and anger. "Turning Failures into Faith" is a sermon that looks into a passage in the Bible where the Israelites failed during the time of Joshua but because they turned to God for faith they became victorious once again.
Defeat at Ai
The Israelites were defeated by the small town of Ai after one man, Achan, disobeyed God's instructions and took devoted items. God told Joshua that Israel had sinned and could not stand against their enemies until the devoted items were removed. Achan was identified by lot and confessed to taking a beautiful robe, silver, and gold. He and his family were stoned for bringing trouble on Israel. The defeat taught that 1) God knows of our sins, 2) we must overcome defeat through obedience, and 3) individual sin can affect the community.
The valley of dry bones
The document describes Ezekiel's vision of dry bones coming to life. Ezekiel is brought by the Spirit to a valley full of dry bones. God commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones, saying He will put breath in them and make them live again. As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together with sinews and flesh and breath, becoming a vast army. God explains that the bones represent Israel believing their hope is lost, but He will save them.

Joshua gathered the tribes of Israel and reminded them of all that God had done for their fathers and for them. He recounted how God brought them out of Egypt and gave them the promised land despite the other peoples living there. Joshua told the people to fear and serve only God, not other gods. The people agreed to serve only God. Joshua warned that God is holy and jealous, and would not forgive their sins if they turned to other gods. But the people remained committed to serving only God and obeying his voice.

Arise Art Gallery Rules Of Exhibit
Arise Christian Church is hosting a Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibit in September and October 2009. The exhibit aims to showcase local Christian artists' work relating to Hispanic/Latino faith and culture. Artists may display and sell their original artwork at the free public event on Sundays from 10am-1pm. All artwork must be appropriate for a sacred environment and adhere to the exhibit's theme. The deadline to register for the exhibit is September 16.

This document summarizes a sermon given at Arise Christian Church about the biblical parable of two houses, one built on a rock foundation and one without a foundation. The sermon discusses how both houses experience adversity but the one built on the rock survives because it is well built and able to withstand challenges, just as obeying Jesus' words enables believers to endure trials in life. Worshippers are challenged to not just be interested listeners but obedient disciples who act on what they hear from Jesus.

The Resource Group revolved around the Hispanic/Latino(a) experience in the United States, and how the Church is and/or is not responding to it.
This was a great time of sharing, learning, and healing.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
