Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients and their treatment. Ensure that state and federal compliance
regulations are adhered to. Leads and assists with group therapy, and individual counseling. Assists nursing staff with the
collection of daily vital signs and documentation. Collaborates with other staff members to preform clinical assessments
and develop treatment plans. Educates and refers patients, clients, and/or family members to additional resources or
specialists as necessary. Maintains effective lines of communication with family members to assist them in
understanding, coping, and supporting clients or patients.
The May Institute: Residential House Manager
2000- 2002
Revere, MA.
Oversaw the daily routines of assigned residents. Responsible for hiring, training and managing a staff of six in-home
counselors responsible for carrying out their individual needs. Coordinated and executed all medical needs. Effectively
managed the finances for the individuals as well as the company. Implemented and documented Individual Behavior
Plans. Worked closely with Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services in order to advocate for and ensure the
patients’ rights as prescribed by state and federal law. Maintained contact with the patient’s families. Ensured 24 hour 7
days a week on call status for the program which entailed being responsible to handle crisis situations as well as call out
back-ups.
Accomplishments:
• Successful negotiation of a labor contract in 2012 for SEIU 1986 local Chapter 6 after a year and a half hard
bargaining.
• Establishment of Labor Management meeting program initiative for SEIU 1986 Chapter 6, for a privately owned and
operated psychiatric hospital in order to foster better labor management relations.
