Film Diary

Within our group we had two designated camera men (Charlie and Tom) they both worked smoothly together and gave each other feedback if they believed a shot could be done differently to improve it. All of our filming was done in two takes over twos day, we were not rushed for time to collect the shots we required. Due to the location of where we were film being a school changing room,the amount of peoples bags within the changing room would change , if we were to film one shot without the bags or with the bags the consistency of the Mise en scene would be ruined so as a group we decided to include the bags to the Mise en scene of our Preliminary task.

Production
The student filmed establishing shots of London from Primrose Hill on December 20th, but the footage was shaky so they planned to film another shot. On December 27th, the student met with actors and planned to film scenes during half term. On January 11th and 14th, the student filmed chasing scenes in Denton and scenes at their house with their little sister and main actor. After receiving feedback, the student re-filmed some scenes and improved the trailer by removing a sound effect as advised.

My group filmed a music video for the song "USSR" by Rejjie Snow over two days in London locations. On the first day they filmed scenes in Brick Lane and Oxford Street using a Canon DSLR camera, tripod, stabilizer and Bluetooth speakers to play the track. The second day they finished filming in Brick Lane, where they experienced some disturbances but overall found the area clear to film. They gained permission to film on private property during the shoot. The music video took 9 hours total to film over the two days, and the actors arrived on time and learned their lyrics properly.

We will meet in the morning, possibly about 11am to 11.30am and will said film into the late afternoon. Our meeting place will be Monton as it is accessible for all of us, and then we will get the bus to Bolton to meet Mark there. Our plan is reshoot Scene 1 Shot 1 in Bolton and try a different area to see if we get a better effect while filming. We also want to film Shot 2 and the rest of the Scene 1. It’s important to get as much done as possible as Bolton is a 45 minute bus ride from where 3 members of the group live, and we have to think of how much transport is going to cost as some of the group depend on EMA to fund transport which isn’t a lot. We need to film enough shots for scene 1 to work with and make a really good sequence when it comes to post production. If we are successful in doing this we want to start filming Scene 2. We have also replaced one of our actors to a more reliable person, and will strongly add potential to our film.
