Kathleen is being honored at Lutheran Settlement House's Women of Courage event for overcoming domestic violence and obstacles as a single mother of two children, including one with autism. She fled Panama with no resources and is living in a shelter while attending counseling sessions at LSH. The fundraising event supports LSH's services for clients like Kathleen. Several organizations are sponsoring the event to recognize courageous women and support LSH's important work in the community.

Women of Courage Honoree Profile
LSH Bilingual Domestic Violence Program Honoree:
Kathleen
Kathleen hails from Panama and has overcome many
obstacles to best take care of her two children. She is
a survivor of domestic violence who fled her home
with no money or clothing. One of Kathleen's children
is autistic and unable to speak. Her family is currently
living in a shelter. She has struggled to make due but
knew that she had to do what was best for her and her
children. Kathleen's courage truly shines through as
she continues to attend sessions at LSH with her head
held high. We are proud to be able to help and
honored to be able to honor her.
