Stages of Design Thinking
16
Main rules of Design Thinking
17
Stage 1: Empathize
• Be inquisitive
• Play the role of psychologist and
detective
• observe emotions, gestures, voice
tonality
• Take as much info as you can
• Try to see the world from the
interviewee's point if view
18
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
19
Stage 2: Define
• Place your insights on a 4x4 matrix
• What are you discovering?
• What's the main problem you would
like to solve?
• What's the main need you would
like to meet?
• What challenge are you going to
focus on?
20
Stage 3: Ideate
• Generate as many ideas as
possible.
• Go for quantity, not quality.
• All ideas are welcome!
• Crazy, impossible ideas that defy
the laws of physics are allowed as
well.
• Write down all ideas.
• NEVER JUDGE IDEAS!
21
NO evaluation with generation!
NO evaluation with generation!
NO evaluation with generation!
NO evaluation with generation!

22
Stage 4: Prototype
23
Stage 5: Test
24
Show, don't tell!
STOP TALKING!
START DOING!

WHY
The purpose of this exercise was to tap into the logic, imagination, intuition, and
systemic reasoning of our guests. All handpicked because being part of the initial
strategy and vision MEDx eHealthCenter has put in place as an organisation .
We also aimed to explore possibilities of what could be, and to create desired
outcomes that benefit the end user (the customer).
Ultimately; this exercise helps us validate all assumptions we have had so far in
terms of
1. Problems we want to adress as an organisation
2. Validate the vision and strategy and business model
3. Define the different solutions to reach the vision
4. Classify the solutions from MVP to extra services to consider moving forward
