Influential South African Youth Speaker, Siya Mapoko to
Address the SADC Youth Forum 2010
HARARE--- SADC Youth Forum today announces the participation by influential and renowned South African
youth, Siya Mapoko, founder of amongst other organizations, the Mapoko Research International (MRI) and
author of ‘Conversations with JSE Altx Entrepreneurs’. Siya will be addressing and closing the forum as a guest
of honor, which will be held in Harare, Zimbabwe at the Meikles Hotel on the 16th December under the theme,
‘Youth Empowerment: Striving for Responsibility and Sustainability’.
In line with the SADC Youth Forum’s endeavors to set a platform that truly caters for the youths aspirations in
attaining knowledge and direction towards responsible and sustainable solutions in self development, Fungai
Alexander Mapondera, the Founder and Executive Chair of Contemporary Indigenous Youth Development
(CIYDA), the organization behind the SADC Youth Forum 2010 said, “On behalf of my team and conference
partners I welcome the participation of Siya Mapoko. His participation couldn’t have come at a more appropriate
time as SADC youths grapple with trying to position themselves in society as contributors towards sustainable
economic development today”. Siya expressed his delight in being part to CIYDA and the SADC Youth Forum’s
endeavors at a regional level by saying, “I would like to congratulate those involved in working towards the
realization of the SADC Youth Forum 2010 and it is an honor to participate at the SADC Youth Forum 2010”.
