5. TOP STORY
The first of its kind U.S. Africa Leaders’ Summit, the biggest
assembly of business leaders and policy makers from the
United States and Africa is now being labelled by as a huge
success. The three-day meeting deliberated affairs vis-à-vis
trade, security and governance. It was in reality a way
to push the often belittled African continent’s economic
prospective and safeguard it a sunnier future.

he three day US-Africa Summit, Aug 4-6, 2014
commenced amid the Ebola outbreak which
goes forward to take over the banners. President
Obama graciously cheered leaders from across
the African continent to Washington, D.C. to
an event which was envisioned to fortify bonds
between the United States and one of the world’s
most vibrant and fastest growing regions, Africa.
Grounded on broad discussions and
shimmering shared goals, summit encompassed
sessions on trade and investment, growth, peace
and security, and governance. Other events
augmented and educated the exchange of ideas
among Heads of State and government, counting
the Young African Leaders Summit, the Civil
Society Forum, the landmark U.S.-Africa Business

Forum, and the African Growth and Opportunity
Act (AGOA ) Ministerial.
These events built-in a range of U.S. and African
civil society, youth and business leaders and
accentuating a belief of broad, bilateral support
for U.S. engagement with Africa involvement
by Members of the U.S. Congress. The Summit
also encompassed a day-long Spousal Program,
hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama and former
First Lady Laura Bush that was absorbed on the
impression of investments in education, health,
and public-private partnerships.
Speaking at a press conference to wrap up
the three-day summit, Obama said: "Rather than
a lot of prepared speeches, our sessions were
genuine discussions, a chance to truly listen and

to try to come together around some

The Secret Recipe
The Obama government might have
discovered the secret recipe although
a bit late, explicitly that Africa is shifting
in the face of all the glitches that are
present on the ground. There is a rising
middle class who are energetic and
educated, Africa is home to most of
the budding economies in the world,
and is chucking out more and more
refined young professionals that are

Nigeria is frequently bring up as the Giant of Africa due to its large population and economy. With
about 174 million inhabitants, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh-most

the King of the Jungle.
Nigeria is situated in West Africa and shares
land borders with the Republic of Benin in the
