
 The film is similar to films of the action/thriller/drama
genre as it uses a typical tense soundtrack. The editing
gets progressively faster as the sequence progresses.
 The costumes and props used in the sequence are what
you would expect in the scene. Torches are used in the
dark. This is to make it sinister and mysterious and to try
to convince the audience that its filmed in Mexico.
 The shots used vary according to the scene. Lots of hand
held shots are used during movement on foot to build
more realism.
In what ways does your media
product challenge conventions?

 The wide range of camera shots I used are those you
expect to see in all types of films. From establishing
shots to extreme close-ups they are all very common.
 The titles I used in my sequence derive from a
mixture of three western fonts. The style represent
Mexico and the West in an old country western feel.
My titles were inspired by those from the opening
sequence of ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’.

Character 2
Jose: Played by Roop Arora

Character 3
Coyote: Played by Arthur Bean

 My opening sequence in some ways challenged a
conventional opening sequence due to the style of
editing and the soundtrack. The editing speeds up
and slows down throughout the sequence, varying
tension levels. The soundtrack contains no vocals
and is very minimalistic. This is not commonly
found in conventional opening sequences.
