This document provides an overview for a music video presentation for the song "Another Way Out" by Hollywood Undead. The video will tell a narrative story of a protagonist who gets in trouble with loan sharks and attempts to escape them in an elongated chase scene. Performers will be located randomly throughout locations to appear as if they are following the protagonist. The video will focus more on the storyline than typical music video performance conventions seen in rap rock genres. It will synchronize lyrics and visuals to depict the protagonist's situation and attempted escape from the mess he is in.

3. GENRE AND TARGET AUDIENCE
• Genre = Rap Rock
• Target Audience = Teenagers from ages of 16-24

4. IDEAS AND CONCEPTS
• A narrative orientated music video.
• The protagonist has got into some trouble with loan sharks.
• The video is his attempt to escape in an elongated chase scene.
• During the video there will performers at random locations as if they are following the
protagonist.
• Instead of having just pure music from the song, the idea of having some dialogue at the
beginning, on top of the music, would help the audience understand the situation.

5. INFLUENCES
• The main part of our concept is influenced from the songs lyrics themselves.
- The lyrics: “Better Run, Better Run, Better Run” gave us the idea of a chase scene.
• The title influenced the concept of our video.
- For example, the words “Another Way Out” suggest that our protagonist is trying to find a
way out of the mess he has got caught up in.

6. CONVENTIONS
• We are mainly sticking to the conventions that a regular music video would contain but we
are using more story line than performance which is unusual in a rap rock theme.
• Lyrics and visuals is one of the conventions we will be focusing on along with music and
visuals.
• Star Iconography will not be a main focus during the production of our video as one video
can not create an image for the artist.
• Rap Rock does not use a lot of voyeurism in many videos so this will not be one of our
main focuses.
• The close ups will not only be on our performer and the actors, but also on relevant items
that will have a lot to do with the lyrics and story line.

7. LYRICS STRUCTURE
• As said before there will be a lot of influence on the visuals from the lyrics in the song.
• Throughout our music video the visuals will be based a lot around the words that are said
in the song. and those word will be given meaning by the scenes shown.

8. MUSIC STRUCTURE
• The tempo during the verses is very fast as they are being rapped.
• The tempo during the choruses however is slower and we have considered using slower
camera movements at this point.
• The timing matters to the song because we cant have the transitions out of sync with the
beat. The beat is made up from the drums and guitars and they can help determine a cut
or an action.

9. PERFORMERS, LOCATIONS AND PROPS
• We are going to need a minimum of about 6 or 7 performers/actors.
• We are going to need to film in several locations. We will need a house for the
protagonists home, base for the mafia and a long stretch of land and/or several areas for
the chase scenes.
• We are going to need weapons, suits and casual clothing and perhaps a few mafia type
props like hats and cigars.
