Symbols like the halo and guards imply Kanye sees himself as protected and in control, relating to the theme of having power over others.

2. In the establishing shot we get an extreme close up of Kanye west face, he is also wearing some type of
gold chain which relates to most rappers. we can also see that he is looking straight at us which indicated
direct mode of address.
As the image zooms out we starts to see other characters within the shot, it would also seem as if Kanye is the
garden to this world as he has guards one both sids of him. as the image opens up the background becomes
lighter, giving the impression that they are meant to be in heaven and Kanye west is portraying himself as the
key to the gate. which then relates to the song title power, as he has the power who passes though and who
doesn’t.

3. In this shot we see a median close up normal looking woman which is juxstiposted as all the other
characters around look like a different species. this could have been added in by Kanye West to show
that he has the power to have a good looking women next to him.
In this shot its noticeable that Kanye west has a halo above his head, this syblods that
he is the leader/god in the image. there is also a sward within the halo, this could be a
symbol of protection, at the artist is trying to portray that he is protected.

4. In this music video ‘power’ we can see that Kanye west has tried to portray his video in the same
image as a Michelangelo master piece. This could be as Kanye west sees himself as the
Michelangelo of rap. This could also relate that to the fact that Michelangelo is an artist and Kanye
west is also an artist, both being genius in creative ways. he has also centred himself within the video
to create the image that he is a god, which is ironic as the song is called ‘power’ he has also used a
lot of creative charters to surround him.
