My magazine uses many of the conventions of real magazines sold in shops by including a clear title font, a simple main image as the focus of the front cover, and a barcode and free posters call-out. On interior pages, it follows professional magazines by dedicating a whole spread to a large band image, making the magazine more interactive for readers. However, the original title font I chose did not look professional so I changed it to a simpler, clearer one.

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
My magazine uses many of the codes and conventions of the real magazines that are sold in
shops every day. The title I wanted on my front cover did not look like a typical font so it
didn’t give a professional finish, this is why I changed it to a simple and clearer one. The
main image on my front cover is extremely simple and is the main focus of the page like in
the real magazines. I also included the barcode and free posters box on the front page to
give it and authentic look of a music magazine. On my double page spread I used a whole
page for an image of my band which again is common in professional magazines as it makes
the magazine a lot more interactive for the readers.
