September 2011 Highlights
 Our Kindle’s are getting ready to be checked out. We have had
a lot of interest by students to check them out when they are ready to go. So far we
have downloaded a lot of classics onto the devices but eventually we would like to get
most of our popular materials on each of them.
 September was banned book month in the media center and we displayed books that
have been banned somewhere in the country. Students found the information to be
interesting and read about which books were banned and why.
 We were extremely busy with class visits during September with 52 class visits to the
   media center!
 Our first book order of the year came in during September with lots of student requests,
new books from series, and lots of multicultural reading materials were added for IB. A
list of all the books can be found HERE.
 We also had an immense number of checkouts during the month of September. Many
language arts classes are including silent reading into their classes and many students
are checking out materials from the media center to read!
