Staff worked with 6th graders on book trailers and with health classes on anti-bullying PSAs. The spring book fair continued and winners of a door decorating contest were treated to ice cream. Preparations also began for migrating to a new library automation system over the summer and the science section saw a massive weeding.

1) Key staff members attended workshops on learning commons and the ALA Mid-Winter meeting. The library hosted spelling and geography bees.

3) The library collaborated with various classes on units about research, survival, hot topics, short stories, animals, mythology and more. Collaboration levels ranged from providing materials to co-teaching lessons.

January 2011 Library Report
The library at Rundlett Middle School hosted several academic competitions and presentations in January 2011, despite being closed for part of the month due to flooding. The library held the geography bee and spelling bee, and a visiting author and NASA presenter spoke to students. Additionally, the new Kindles purchased with a grant were distributed and reading programs utilizing the devices began. Library use was lower than the previous year due to the closure.

Rundlett Middle School Library Monthly Report – August/September 2009 Program Highlights Mrs. Casko joined the staff as ½ time librarian Ms. Keane began teaching Information Literacy ½ time as part of the Technology Education rotation. The Library hosted a successful book fair. The proceeds will help fund author visits during the year. The Library was open on both Back to School nights for tours and for the book fair. Many parents stopped by to visit. All the 6th grade classes came for orientation sessions The new library web page was unveiled. We are now using SchoolFusion web pages The Library staff happily unpacked our new books. Large shipments of new books are always a cause for celebration.
