While productivity in manufacturing and aviation can be easily quantified by measuring output, editorial productivity is more difficult to measure as it is qualitative in nature. Some factors that contribute to editorial productivity include writing skills, research abilities, knowledge growth, versatility, time management, ability to work under pressure, and contribution to brand value. When an editorial team takes on additional projects while maintaining the same staff levels, productivity can be managed by delegating tasks, outsourcing specialized work, adding human resources after planning, and developing new skills within the team through training.
