III. Counterargument
Consider the above questions in those two sections as a foundation to argue your point (and please don’t assume that there is no other position – that is a narrow ideological view). Your goal in the final section is to take the two previous sections (summary/synthesis, and analysis/evaluation/interpretation) as an opportunity to posit (make, state, etc.) an argument or position that undermines, problematizes, debunks or otherwise causes a problem for the argument you are assessing. This sort of analysis that resists glazing over potential problems in favor of a complimentary review provides an opportunity (a vital one) to strengthen the original argument, amend it, or otherwise take into consideration something that was omitted or misstated.

The issue that I chose for my critical health issue is family planning and teenage pregnancies. For years, it seemed that everywhere I turned there were young teenage girls that were pregnant surrounding me. Currently, “the U.S. still has a teen birthrate of 31.2 per 1,000 teens, nearly one-and-a-half times the rate in the United Kingdom, which has one of the highest rates in Western Europe (Vestal, 2015, para. 1). I believe that prevention programs are the best method to reduce the high teenage pregnancy rates. The World Health Organization stated that, “family planning is a method for helping people to have the desired number of children and for spacing births” (as cited in Friis, et al., 2013, 5.2, para. 2). Healthy People 2020 set their goal for family planning to improve the spacing and planning of pregnancy, but also to prevent unwanted pregnancies (Friis, et al., 2013).
Covenant House has on-site counselors who help teen moms work on building confidence and gain independence. Moms can attend their workshops that teach them various parenting skills and the importance for them and their children to live healthy lives. The Covenant House also provides on-site childcare so that these have the capability to comp.

The issue that I chose for my critical health issue is family planning and teenage pregnancies. For years, it seemed that everywhere I turned there were young teenage girls that were pregnant surrounding me. Currently, “the U.S. still has a teen birthrate of 31.2 per 1,000 teens, nearly one-and-a-half times the rate in the United Kingdom, which has one of the highest rates in Western Europe (Vestal, 2015, para. 1). I believe that prevention programs are the best method to reduce the high teenage pregnancy rates. The World Health Organization stated that, “family planning is a method for helping people to have the desired number of children and for spacing births” (as cited in Friis, et al., 2013, 5.2, para. 2). Healthy People 2020 set their goal for family planning to improve the spacing and planning of pregnancy, but also to prevent unwanted pregnancies (Friis, et al., 2013).
Covenant House has on-site counselors who help teen moms work on building confidence and gain independence. Moms can attend their workshops that teach them various parenting skills and the importance for them and their children to live healthy lives. The Covenant House also provides on-site childcare so that these have the capability to comp.

Here are the key differences between Freud and Jung's views of the unconscious:
- Freud saw the unconscious as primarily driven by sexual and aggressive instincts that are repressed due to societal constraints. Jung believed the unconscious also contained beneficial, creative instincts.
- For Freud, the goal of therapy was making the unconscious conscious to resolve neurosis. Jung felt exploring symbols and archetypes in the unconscious could lead to personal growth and realizing one's full potential.
- Jung introduced the concepts of the collective unconscious, containing universal archetypes inherited from our ancestors, and the process of individuation, where one integrates conscious and unconscious elements to find wholeness. Freud did not believe in a collective level to the unconscious.

- 2. Why feature this UN Millennial Development Goal? Why does it resonate for you? I found this goal relatable to my current season of life. As a new mother of three children, including a newborn, I have dealt with this topic personally. I find myself frustrated and grateful simultaneously with the current procedures, data, and perspective on this topic. I am trying to incorporate old wisdom and new western medicine in our health regimen with challenges. When there are studies claiming safety for some items or ideas, which are currently being recalled for safety reasons, it becomes extremely difficult to trust the current standards.
- 3. How can your interest be applied locally? This interest can be applied locally by offering any ideas to the local wic office to either gather data, implement ideas, or find others interested in this topic for more help. If we wanted to try an experiment we can post our idea on their bulletin board for example. Or, if we needed guidance, they would be a good resource to start the process with real families.
- 4. Where can you make the greatest contribution? I recently acquired my wellness coach certification, so I believe I can help the most by offering ways to organize our thoughts on such a large topic. I would be good at advocating for natural remedies, while stressing the importance of not judging the process, the mother, or the trials and errors for both. I can bring my personal failures and successes as evidence
- 5. Is there a feature of social media that can be uniquely applied to this goal? I believe a blog would be a helpful social media tool to use for this goal. I find there is no better data and feedback than a multitude of personal experiences. A platform that pushes information out for the sake of gathering more information, even a conversation, is a perfect medium. Mothers and friends can share what went well or not so well. This can give information for a permanent grand plan, as well as offer immediate advice for those looking.
