2. Malachi 3:9 You are cursed with a curse,

“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the
kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

9. The Kingdom of God is not about your behavior.
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink;

The Law focused on what we must do, self-effort
Let the gospel of Jesus Christ change you internally and produce
the external results you are “trying” to produce.

gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to
faith: as it is written,The just shall live by faith.

11. Jesus Christ was our substitute.
He suffered, so we don’t both need to suffer.

14. We have been redeemed from having to produce on
our own. Jesus brought us back into our
inheritance.
Self effort looks like this:
You have to be better.
You have to work harder.
You have to make better decisions.
You need to stop sinning.
You need to be more disciplined…

15. Let the gospel of Jesus Christ produce in us.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's
stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

16. Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the
law, being made a curse for us
He was forsaken so:
Hebrews 13:5 “for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor
forsake thee.”

17. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body
on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto
righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

19. Grace will take us where we are “trying” to go.
We can rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
He worked so we can enter in His rest.
