Grade Workshop or Rehearsal Matilda
Peer Assessment Merit Indie was as usual very punctual as well as being ready for the lesson. As the lesson progressed Indie had a very positive
mindset and threw herself into anything we did. When going over the lifts, Indie performed her part well as she stayed strong in
her core, while keeping her legs straight and toes pointed. Furthermore, Indie can hit the specific moves in faster parts of the
routine and is able to hit every position. One thing I think Indie can improve on is timing and hitting the specific moves on the
correct beats. This would make the dance as a whole look more polished and therefore be more enjoyable to watch.
Self-assessment Merit In this rehearsal of Matilda we carried on with the choreography and partnered with people to do different types of lifts. I did very
well during this rehearsal and remembered all the new movements we added. I committed to the lifts and was able to do it on the
first try. I get on Phoebe's back and straighten my legs out for the lift. We originally spun around with it but decided not to due to
the timing to get to the final position of the dance. Although, one thing I need to work on is my timing as I was more focussed on
hitting the new moves instead of hitting the correct beats.
SMART Target My SMART target is understanding and executing the correct timing. This is an important target to achieve so I am in sync with everyone else
which will make the routine look more clean and professional. I want to reach this target in the next rehearsal so we can just focus on
polishing the whole routine as we have finished it now. This is a very possible target to hit because I will work with my director and peers to
determine the correct timing of the lifts in the music so I can practice hitting that and then getting into the final position before the song ends.
