Aryabhata was a famous Indian mathematician and astronomer who lived from 476 to 550 CE. He wrote two important works called Aryabhitiya and Arya-Siddhanta when he was just 23 years old in 499 CE, establishing him as the first of the great mathematician-astronomers from classical India. The Aryabhitiya mentions it was composed 3,630 years into the Kali Yuga, corresponding to the year 499 CE and indicating Aryabhata was born in 476 CE.
