we say “ten thousands” we are
referring to the digit's position while
when we say “ten thousand”, we

VALUE OF A DIGIT
The value of a digit refers to the numerical

number. This worth is determined by the
position of the digit within the number,
known as its place value, and the value of

Example:

4,000 (four thousand), the value of 6 is
60,000 (sixty thousand), and the value
of 1 is 100,000 (one hundred
thousand).
In 77,777, the value of 7 in

70,000. The value of 7 in the
thousands place is 7,000,
and so on.
