The world is changing and the job force is changing with it. In today’s dynamic global economy, the most successful enterprises aren’t looking for workers who know a lot about only one thing. They are seeking employees who are nimble, curious and innovative.
The work done by lower-level accountants, computer programmers, engineers, lawyers and financial analysts is already being outsourced; soon it will be done by computers. The good jobs of the future will go to those who can collaborate widely, think broadly and challenge conventional wisdom — precisely the capacities of an entrepreneur. Kyle is sharing his journey and will illustrate the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mind-set. It's not about thinking about the first job, but a lifetime of jobs.

This document summarizes a social media masterclass for arts administrators held on February 28th, 2017 in London. The masterclass covered practical skills for using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Snapchat to understand audiences, create engaging content, and manage online campaigns. Tips included using tools like Followerwonk to analyze followers, focusing on visual content for Instagram, and amplifying organically popular posts through paid promotions. The document stresses creating a consistent online presence and narrative through curating content like a festival across different social networks.
The document discusses several topics related to innovation including opening up processes to crowdsourcing, curating experiences, peer-to-peer models, rapid prototyping, building communities, and adopting new behaviors rather than just new tools to drive revolution. It poses questions about opportunities to engage audiences as investors, apply democratic models, explore data and find development talent to collaborate with. Overall, the document advocates for organizations to tighten their tribes, embrace new technologies and work with others to have more fun and stay relevant in a changing world.
This agenda outlines activities for a one-day workshop, including opening activities, three main activities focused on collaboration and working together, and a closing session. The document also provides context about IRISS, a Scottish organization that promotes collaboration and participatory approaches to social services. Their goal is to empower those using social services and ensure their voices are heard.
Transforming perceptions of nursing and midwifery: slide deck from the ambass...Helen Bevan
This document outlines the agenda and activities for a hackathon event focused on improving perceptions of nursing and midwifery careers. The event brings together teams to brainstorm campaigns around "building blocks" like leadership, innovation, and joy at work. Teams design campaigns that are actionable, connected, and extensible. They then pitch their ideas to a panel. The goal is to generate implementable solutions to counter "enemies" of positive perceptions like stereotyping, burnout, and lack of innovation.

The Role of Storytelling in Community and Economic Development
Jolene Schalper, Senior Vice President Business Development, Great Falls Development Authority, Great Falls, MT
The document discusses the shift from traditional one-way media to social media, where people can connect and share information. It notes that social media is about listening to conversations and using that information. The rest of the document provides guidance on developing a social media strategy, including understanding the current conversations around a topic, creating engaging content to support conversations, and supporting but not controlling existing communities. It emphasizes using social media to tell a brand's story and engage people rather than simply broadcast messages.

Workshop: By the People, for the People: Developing Digital Strategy That Mat...Dana Allen-Greil
Presented at the Museum Computer Network conference in Montreal, November 2013 by Dana Allen-Greil, Emily Lytle-Painter, and Annelisa Stephan.
No matter where you are in your organization, or where your museum is in its digital evolution, you can play a leadership role in developing a meaningful digital strategy. But to do this well, you'll need to think first about people: Who are you trying to serve? Who do you need to communicate or collaborate with? And how can you best converse with those people? Maybe you have a formal strategy in place, but you need to be better at communicating it to leadership and your colleagues. Perhaps you're working on a digital strategy in the absence of a larger institutional plan. Or maybe you're just getting started in thinking about how to tackle the strategic planning process. There is no one right way to build a digital strategy, but there are frameworks, tools, and tips that can make the process smoother and more collaborative.

The question becomes: how do we break out of our silos, patterns and habits to do something about it?
We invited 16 change-makers from vastly different business sectors to explore this very question with us. We called it the Do Good Dialogues. Featuring innovative voices seeking to take cross-pollination to the next level, master disruptor Brian Reich led 15-minute discussions from our stage and challenged each thought leader to answer “Five Good Questions” about their role in creating lasting social good.
The Do Good Dialogues eBook features the transcripts of those discussions, along with other notes, thoughts and resources.
The document discusses what makes digital campaigns and communications great. It identifies key factors such as creativity, understanding the customer journey, blended operations, delivering relevance, regularity, virality, shareability, and enabling action and good experiences. It provides tips for spurring creativity such as limiting distractions, speaking without using certain words, writing stories from pictures, and combining opposite ideas. Overall it emphasizes the importance of creativity, deep customer knowledge, multi-channel engagement, and creating memorable experiences in developing effective digital campaigns.

Title: Sense of Smell
Presenter: Dr. Faiza, Assistant Professor of Physiology
Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
From olfactory cells to glomeruli in the olfactory bulb, involving lateral inhibition.
Primitive, less old, and new olfactory systems with different path

ABDOMINAL TRAUMA in pediatrics part one.drhasanrajab
Abdominal trauma in pediatrics refers to injuries or damage to the abdominal organs in children. It can occur due to various causes such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related injuries, and physical abuse. Children are more vulnerable to abdominal trauma due to their unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, tenderness, distension, vomiting, and signs of shock. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging studies, and laboratory tests. Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.
