— Provide an overview of the Engineering Data manager.
— Demonstrate the procedure for using the Engineering Data manager to enter,
store view organize and import material property datastore, view, organize, and import material property data.
 Why?
— To enter critical material property data.
— To organize and share material property data.
— Speed up the analysis process and improve work flow

— It is a tool for defining, storing, and organizing material properties.
— Can use properties stored in material libraries.

 The Data Source/Project toggle controls the Engineering Data

— These are the materials that are available for use in the analysis.

 ANSYS supplies a number of material libraries shown above New user ANSYS supplies a number of material libraries shown above. New user
defined libraries may be added by entering a name and a location for the
library file.
 Materials can be added to the Favorites area from multiple data sources
making it a custom library available in every project.

 The Toolbox provides numerous material property definitions that can bep p p y
added to new or existing materials.
 To modify materials in existing libraries the library must first be unlocked To modify materials in existing libraries, the library must first be unlocked.
— Materials can be modified or added to the library.
— Materials from other libraries can be added.

— Materials imported from CAD will appear in the “Engineering Data” item of the

New user defined libraries may be added by entering a name and a location for the library file.  Materials can be added to the Favorites area from multiple data sources making it a custom library available in every project. 9
