The CRMC Bioenergy Facility is a pilot anaerobic digestion facility located near an existing landfill gas to energy facility and landfill. The initial phase of the facility receives and conditions food waste, wastewater treatment sludge, and fats/oils/grease into a pumpable feedstock. This feedstock is fed continuously into a 100,000 gallon anaerobic digester to produce biogas and digestate. The biogas supplements the existing landfill gas to energy facility. The final commercial phase will expand operations by 10 times the scale. Barriers to expansion include developing food waste supply and end uses for digestate.
