In today s society, I believe that there are many possible hazards if we focus too
much on heightening the self esteem of children. One example is that children with
very high self esteem could have a lack of motivation in regards to academic
assignments and exams. They may not feel the need to study or put in the work to try
their best due to the fact that they have the mentality of I m so smart, so I don t need
to study. Another example is that high self esteem could lead children to losing
respect towards authority. When children become too arrogant, they develop this
know it all attitude. They feel that they are better than the authority figure and there is
no reason to respect them. All in all, too much focus on heightening self esteem can
cause children to lack high goals and expectations and influence them to disrespect
authority figures. Instead, we should focus on developing a secure self esteem in
which children feel comfortable and happy about themselves. We should teach

April ? June of 1973 2002 finding drylines on 32% of days with peak frequency

forecasts of dryline position from a 4 km grid spacing experimental version of the
Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model (Skamarock et al. 2008), as well
as the 12 km grid spacing North American Mesoscale (NAM) model (Rogers et al.
2009), were evaluated for the period April ? June 2007 11. It was found that the
NAM forecasts had no systematic eastward biases while the WRF forecasts had
significant eastward biases. In Clark et al. (2015), the sensitivity of 24 h forecast
dryline position to boundary layer parameterizations in 4 km grid spacing WRF

Quakers were the first to help the slaves fight for freedom. The New York
Manumission Society contributed the most for the emancipation of slaves, but let s

With this in consideration, tens of thousands of slaves joined the British side
during the war. The British occupied New York in 1776 and it became a center for
blacks from all over the colonies seeking freedom. This multiplying number helped
the British with the need for labor, but also alarmed them. Whether fleeing to the
British side or staying loyal to the American rebels, blacks expected freedom and
equality after their service was given. By the end of the war, many blacks that
served o the British side were relocated and attained liberty through traveling to
British territories. Between three and four thousand blacks left New York through its
port for these British territories and about one thousand were native to New York.
The reality of black s service to the patriot cause in revolutionary America led most
northern states to emancipate their slaves during or immediately after the war.
Vermont provided for immediate emancipation in its 1777 constitution and by 1780,
Pennsylvania enacted gradual emancipation. However, New York still heavily relied
on slave labor in the city through the 1780s and this lead to the resistance of gradual
emancipation in their state constitution or in legislative actions. After the
Revolutionary War, blacks started to speak out themselves on their take of freedom.
