In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

4. Marriage
That divine institution ordained by God
comprised of one man (male) and one
woman (female), In which each joins (glues)
himself to the other until death parts them.
It supersedes all other earthly relationships. It imitates
God’s relationship with ancient Israel and Christ’s
relationship with His New Testament church. The origin
of the home and family and the place for child birth
and rearing.
5. Harmony
1. the combination of simultaneously sounded musical
notes to produce chords and chord progressions
having a pleasing effect.
2. agreement or concord.
synonyms:
accord, agreement, peace, peacefulness, amity, amicability,
friendship, fellowship, cooperation, understanding,
consensus, unity, sympathy, rapport, like-mindedness.
6. Beautiful
pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.
synonyms:
attractive, pretty, handsome, good-looking, alluring,
prepossessing.
20. Selflessness and Acceptance
Baby come as you are with just
your heart And I'll take you in
you're rejected and hurt,
To me you're worth, what you have within.
Now, I don't need no superstar
cause I'll accept you as you are.
You won't be denied cause I'm satisfied
with the love you inspire.
You don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show;
21. Togetherness/Reliance
Listen, baby, ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide
enough, baby
If you need me, call me, no matter where you are
No matter how far, don't worry, baby
Just call my name, I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
'Cause baby, there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby
22. Commitment
My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's right
My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make
And I (I-I-I-I-I)
I want to share
All my love with you
No one else will do
23. Adoration
Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you
Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you
24. Marriage Is The Greatest
Duet Ever Sung
Because
Marriage Is A Song Written By God
25. God Didn’t Want Us Solo
Then the LORD God said, "It is not
good that the man should be alone;
I will make him a helper fit for him”
(Genesis 2:18).
1. The man alone is not good.
2. God gave him a partner fit for him.
United they can make beautiful music together.
28. So what? So, what's a little loneliness?
It's not like a fatal disease, right?
Wrong. Loneliness is a stress - like pain,
injury/loss, grief, fear, fatigue, exhaustion.
Loneliness can be traumatic. Physiologically,
loneliness can trigger the same stress response
as a broken leg. This causes our bodies to alter the
production of hormones, which in turn alters the
function of many other systems in the body.
29. Ultimately, this can affect every cell in our
bodies. Stress like this has been implicated
in contributing to the origin or severity of
diseases such as cardiovascular disease
(including strokes, migraines, heart attacks),
gastrointestinal disorders (including ulcers),
autoimmune disorders, asthma, and many other
illnesses.
30. Stress also may prolong the amount of time it takes
our bodies to heal. Loneliness can make us sick,
keep us sick, and interfere with
our recovery.
31. "Real loneliness," Dr. Lynch says, "begins with an
inability to communicate." With considerable
research data to support his argument that "the lack of
human companionship, the sudden loss of love, and chronic
human loneliness are significant contributors to serious disease
(including cardiovascular disease) and premature death,"
Dr. Lynch provides compelling evidence linking the benefits
of communication and human interaction to improved
health status.
33. Two Is Better Than One
Two are better than one, because they have a
good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one
will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is
alone when he falls and has not another to lift
him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep
warm, but how can one keep warm alone?
And though a man might prevail against one who
is alone, two will withstand him--a threefold
cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:8-12
34. It Takes Two
One can have a dream, baby
Two can make that dream so real
One can talk about being in love
Two can say how it really feels
One can wish upon a star
Two can make that wish come true, yeah
One can stand alone in the dark
Two can make the light shine through
It takes two baby, it takes two baby
Me and you.
36. Three Essentials For Good Music
Melody - a succession of notes or tones
combined together to create a sense
of unity and an agreeable sound.
Harmony - a musical combination of tones
intended to support the melody and provide a
sense of unity.
Rhythm - a regular succession of sounds or
motions creating a sense of unity.
37. Harmony In Music Is Like
Harmony In Marriage
Melody – combining together to
create a sense of unity and an
agreeable sound.
Harmony - combination intended to support
and provide a sense of unity.
Rhythm - a regular succession of sounds or
motions creating a sense of unity.
39. Harmony In Marriage Shows Unity
1. the state of being one; oneness.
2. a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one.
3. the state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of
the parts of a whole; unification.
4. absence of diversity; unvaried or uniform character.
5. oneness of mind, feeling, etc., as among a number of
persons; concord, harmony, or agreement.
40. Harmony In Marriage
Shows Self Control
Those In Harmony
Control their angry.
Control their attitudes.
Control their actions.
Control their words.
Control their emotions.
It’s so beautiful because those in harmony evidence the
fruit of the Spirit.
41. Harmony In Marriage
Brings Out The Best In Us
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Harmony emulates God.
God is selfless and serving.
In order to have Harmony
We must prefer one another.
We must serve one another.
We must yield our ways for one another.
42. Marriage Harmony
Demonstrates Growth
1. Harmonious marriage is not a one hit wonder.
2. It is a life long career.
3. It has smash hits and you reach the top.
4. It has flops and you sing the blues.
5. It grows closer, sweeter and richer as the
decades rock n roll along.
47. Primadonas’/Self-centeredness
You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye Your scarf it was
apricot You had one eye on the mirror as you watched
yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and...
You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you
You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't You?
48. Self deception
• You are convinced your spouse is the problem.
• You are sure that as soon as you can convince them that they
are the problem they can fix themselves, and your life will be
better.
• You might be self deceived – you might be the problem.
• You might be out of tune!
53. Honor Each Other
• Consider each others feelings.
• Care for the other person.
• Communicate openly, freely.
• 1. Build up your spouse.
• 2. Take care how you talk to them.
• 3. Take care how you talk about them.
55. Value Each Other’s Feelings
Don’t make your spouse defend their feelings!
1. It robs your spouse of self ownership.
2 It places approval of their feelings in your hands.
3. No one should tell someone else how they should feel.
Feelings are never right or wrong, they are just feelings.
57. Peter Gray, Ph.D., research professor
at Boston College
To respect is to understand that the other person
is not you, not an extension of you, not a reflection
of you, not your toy, not your pet, not your product.
In a relationship of respect, your task is to understand
the other person as a unique individual and learn how to
mesh your needs with his or hers and help that person achieve
what he or she wants to achieve. Your task is not to control the
other person or try to change him or her in a direction that you
desire but he or she does not. I think this applies as much to
parent-child relationships as to husband-wife relationships.
59. Let It Be, Let It Be
• Stop asking your spouse to change instead you change and
live what they are, not what you want them to be. Our
spouse’s have told us and shown us who they are and how
they are. Our refusal to live according to who they are is our
problem not theirs.
To be in tune we must stop trying to turn a base into a
soprano. Imagine the harmony we could have in our marriage
if we only let our spouse sing their part in their key?
60. Make time to connect
• Taking time to sit down and talk one-onone either at the beginning of the day or
end of the day. The bedroom area should
be a safe place and a sanctuary where all of life’s
problems stay out. Make sure to snuggle at night
and fall asleep together if possible. Go on a daily
walk together to unwind and distress. Make sure to
communicate with each other by phone several
times each day.
61. Remind each other that you’re sexy.
• Talk sexy to each other and complement
each other with affirmations regarding
your sexual feelings for each other.
The physical part of a marriage is critical to
keeping happiness in the home.
62. Share a guilty pleasure
• Laugh, have fun, and be silly together.
Be spontaneous and do something crazy that
is out of the ordinary, this helps break up the
routines of life.
63. Enrich yourselves
as individuals
• Doing things separately gives you a chance
to fill in the blanks that your partner can’t
fill in for you, for example, one of you likes
classical music, the other one likes sports. Taking a
break from each other gives you more things to talk
about, because when you’re joined at the hip, what’s
to talk about? You’ve already seen it all. It’s very
important as individuals to pursue your own hobbies
and interests. It brings freshness to the marriage
because both people continue to grow as individuals.
64. Get spiritual together
• 75% of Americans who pray with their
spouses reported that their marriages are
“very happy” compared to 57% of those
who don’t. Those who pray together are also
more likely to say they respect each other, discuss
their marriage together, and rate their spouses as
skilled lovers. This may sound crazy, but by reading
the Bible and engaging in going to church, this can
actually improve every area of your relationship.
65. A good marriage is like a pet boa constrictor:
either you feed it every day or bad things
happen!
from Ty Wenger from Redbook Magazine Lifestyle and Relationship via:
The Road blog.
