My slideshow examines the ethics of eating meat, and how it contributes to poor health in humans and animals, as well as the pollution of our environment. It also identifies the benefits of choosing a vegetarian diet.
Most Ignite presentations are carefully prepared and well rehearsed by the presenters… this is not one of those presentations. Bryce has never seen these slides before – they were solicited from various members of his team, coworkers and loved ones. He’ll be expected to string together a semi-coherent 5 minute talk completely on the fly and before the judging eyes of the crowd. How did he let himself get talked into this? Investigation into water consumption utilising U.S. meat consumption data and UNESCO's Water Footprint data to highlight U.S. water consumption through beef, chicken and pork then identify less water intensive food substitutes.
Carp is one of the main species of China's aquaculture industry, forming 13 percent of its farmed fish output. Because of their wide adaptability, carp can be farmed in an extensive variety of regions. However, in recent years their quality in China has declined. With the blind pursuit of production volumes and backward steps in breeding management technology, many problems have appeared in carp aquaculture.

Pen Farming in A Small River: Its Impact on Fish Production and Economic Cond...Agriculture Journal IJOEAR
Abstract— Present study was conducted in the river Chota Bhagirathi in Malda district of West Bengal to assess the productivity of fish-pens and its impact on economic condition of the pen farmers. Fifteen pen farmers were selected for the study and their age ranged from 25-40 yrs. Among them 53.33% were 31-35 yrs old and 33.33% were within 36-40 yrs. Individual pen farming area varied from 3.0 ha to > 6.0 ha in the river Chota Bhagirathi. According to the size, pens were categorized into three groups: small pen (3.0-4.5 ha), medium pen (4.6-6.0 ha) and big pen (> 6.0 ha). Small pen farmers contributed 40.00%, medium pens 33.33% and big pens 26.67% of the total pen farming area in the river. The lease amount of pens varied according to pen area. Maximum fish production achieved from P1 (3281 kg/ha/year), P7 (3333 kg/ha/year), P8 (3444 kg/ha/year), P9 (3225 kg/ha/year) and P10 (3279 kg/ha/year) compared with other pens. P1 (Rs. 1,14,474 ha/year) earned highest profit and P8 (Rs. 1,06,771 ha/year) was second highest among 15 pens. Among the selected pen farmers, 73.33% were from non-fisherman community and only 26.67% from original fisherman folk.
The presentation is based on 30 years of experience on small-scale fisheries and will give an outline on how Professor Kolding’s visions for aligning and combining three major objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Better human nutrition and health, more food, and least ecological impacts from sustainably harvesting our aquatic ecosystems. Professor Kolding will also briefly outline a new multidisciplinary project in Africa, which will pursue these three objectives by focusing on small fish.

ABSTRACT- Corbett Landscape and Corbett Tiger Reserve is a beautiful place of roar and trumpets. Tiger is a very
intelligent animal and are able to survive in any situation. In dry summer season the fulfillments of vital need become
tight and tough for all. Especially prey species aggregates near water bodies. On the other hand tiger is territorial animal.
Dry season depicts extra efforts to catch the prey by tiger. Different dynamics of Predator-prey relationship is recorded in
this season. Total 8 cases of elephant’s mortality with tiger attack sign were ceased. Total 120 scats were analyzed. Scat
analysis resulted less daily requirement of tiger. Ecological requirements are 4-5 kg per day. But scat analysis resulted
very less in rest of proper daily consumption. Mostly attacks on elephant recorded in the month of June or in dry season.
Such type of tough situation the tiger movement become in human-dominated landscape for easy prey (Livestock
predation). The chances of conflicts are more and more in these periods. Increasing rate of conflicts is always die heart for tiger as well as human beings. Key-words- Conservation, Scat analysis, Conflict, Ecological requirements
PhD confirmation - ecology of estuarine sharks & rayssharonle
This is a ppt that was used in my confirmation for candidature. It describes how I will use stable isotope and fatty acid analysis to determine what estuarine sharks and rays eat and which areas of the South Alligator River, (NT, Aus) they utilise. This will then inform environmental managers of which areas are critical to the survival of these species.

Biodiversity, a portmanteau of "bio" (life) and "diversity," generally refers to the variety and variability of life on Earth. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, biodiversity typically measures variation at the genetic, the species, and the ecosystem level. Terrestrial biodiversity tends to be greater near the equator, which seems to be the result of the warm climate and high primary productivity. Biodiversity is not distributed evenly on Earth, and is richest in the tropics. These tropical forest ecosystems cover less than 10 per cent of earth's surface, and contain about 90 percent of the world's species. Marine biodiversity tends to be highest along coasts in the Western Pacific, where sea surface temperature is highest and in the mid-latitudinal band in all oceans. There are latitudinal gradients in species diversity.Biodiversity generally tends to cluster in hotspots, and has been increasing through time, but will be likely to slow in the future.

This presentation, created by Syed Faiz ul Hassan, explores the profound influence of media on public perception and behavior. It delves into the evolution of media from oral traditions to modern digital and social media platforms. Key topics include the role of media in information propagation, socialization, crisis awareness, globalization, and education. The presentation also examines media influence through agenda setting, propaganda, and manipulative techniques used by advertisers and marketers. Furthermore, it highlights the impact of surveillance enabled by media technologies on personal behavior and preferences. Through this comprehensive overview, the presentation aims to shed light on how media shapes collective consciousness and public opinion.
