2. Employment History:
Sept 2010 – to present:
Petrofac – North Alwyn Platfrom – Maintenance Team Leader.
Responsible for the day to day running of the maintenance department that consists of approx 35
persons on day shift covering Electrical, Mechanical and Instrument trades. Planning and
ensuring liquidation of the 2 week plan. This consists of all Monthly PMs, Safety critical
Elements and defect work orders. Within the department the MTL is responsible for monthly
compliance and ensures all PMs are carried out in a timely and professional manner. Running
various reports from Totals SAP system, ensuring work history is completed to high standard
before signed off as complete. Liaise with Operations Superintendent to plan, schedule and co-
ordinate all installation maintenance and assurance activities to ensure optimum utilisation,
effectiveness and efficiency of all installation equipment and personnel to meet business needs.
Carry out STOP tours, Area Inspections, Permit to Work (WCC) and Isolation (ICC) audits
under the ISSOW system.
Liaise with all vendors, where we are responsible for completion of work scopes and reports.
Review of work packs before vendor mobilization.
As MTL we are responsible for all Petrofac employee appraisals and any personal issues that
may arise. Liaise with HR and carry out interviews when required. Review of all PMs, initial
checks with regards to Deferrals and PMCRs before passing to Total TA. Attend weekly
meetings with OIM and various people within the Total organization to ensure Petrofac are
meeting the client’s expectations and providing a high level of commitment to Safety and
ensuring a highly competent work force is in place to meet these demands. Following appraisal
comments I am actively seeking dates for the OIMs regulations and Petrofac internal OIMs
training.
Further to ongoing safety initiatives I was recommended for Totals SHE award for
Best Supervisor of the Year for 2013. I was presented with the award earlier in 2014 and was
very proud and honored to have won this award. Especially as all Total assets and offices are
included for nominees and it was my fellow work mates and subordinates that nominated me.
April 2004 – Sept 2010:
Petrofac – Kittiwake Platform - Operations co-ordinator
Petrofac - Kittwake Platform - Turbine Engineer / Stand in Maintenance Supervisor
Reporting to Maint Supervisor and OIM, main duties were to co-ordinate Maintenance routines
and ensure monthly PMs and SCE work-scopes were completed. Ensuring history within
Maximo was up to date and was of a high standard. Responsible for various data-base upkeep
and liase with TA with regards to deferrals and PM change request forms. Ensure vendor work
packs were distributed and all trades aware of content and spares etc were on Platform prior to
vendor mobilization. Develop plans for Engine and Compressor major interventions
Responsible for the day to day running of the 3 X Tornado Turbines that supply power and life
support to the platform. Planning and ordering of all spares, undertake Maintenance routines and
ensuring they are complete to the PS and SCE criteria specified in the Maximo Maintenance
System. Fault finding and repair during breakdown. Broad base of knowledge across the Turbine
package that comprises all Mech, Electrical and Instrumentation calibration and commissioning.
Engine change outs, burner installation to software updates and parameter changes. Installation

3. of all modifications and upgraded equipment, i.e. Bentley Nevada Vibration equipment, Liquid
and Fuel control valves.
Other duties include Vibration monitoring of all rotating equipment using Prism 4 software along
with SKF Micro-log hand held communication device.
Over the last 18 months I have covered for the Maintenance supervisor for the 5th
week cover
and have enjoyed the challenges accompanying this. I am highly motivated and work to a high

March 2002 to April 2004
Solar Turbines Incorporated - Field Services Engineer
Working in the Field service department of Solar Turbines for all UK sites on and offshore, I was
responsible for package services, troubleshooting, servicing and breakdowns. Also responsible
for the installation and commissioning of new Solar packages in the field. I gained experience
across various Solar Turbines packages from the smaller Saturn @ 0.8 Mw to the largest, newly
introduced Titan package @ 14Mw. Installations were varied and included Power generation,
Water Injection Pumps and Compressors.
Nov 96 to March 2002
Wood Group Light Industrial Turbines - Controls / Mechanical Engineer.
Working in the field service department, primarily working on Aero Derivative Engines on the
BP Thistle Platform on a back-to-back basis. Duties included re-commissioning of all
Instrumentation and Electrical equipment, engine removal, strip down in-situ for burner clean
and replacement of Engine auxiliaries. Also responsible for faultfinding, repairs, creating work
packs, daily status reports. Coordinated planned downtime for maintenance, ordering of all
spares and availability of Turbines with platform management. Engine types that I was
responsible for was:. Olympus SK30 Units controlled by Electronic Woodward Governors and
Square 'D PLC sequencer, Pratt / Whitney GG4 (A9, C 1D3) type Engines controlled by a
Stationary Power Controller (SPC) along with a Relay logic controlled Sequencer.
We upgraded the B Unit Sequence system to a Modicon PLC and completely rewired the
Instrumentation and control valves etc on the engine. Full involvement with installation and
commissioning of all new systems.
I was exposed to other systems such as Turbine Controls Limited which is based on Allen
Bradley Slc 500 Processors with Electronically operated Gas fuel valve and Directly proportional
Liquid fuel pumps. Modicon PLC Control systems. Ruston MK1, MK2, EGT Intelligent
Display MK2, HSDE and Triconics Digital interface. Before commencing a back-to-back
rotational position on Thistle, I was part of the field service department. During my 3 years in
this department I worked on the Forties Field for a considerable time and was involved in Major
Overhauls, Upgrades and all Control calibrations etc. I have worked abroad on various
assignments, which included Installing Water-wash systems, Engine installation, commissioning
and Engine services. Mechanical experience was gained on TB 3000 - 5000 and TD 4000
Generating units and I also worked on Avon mobile Generator sets, where we were responsible
for the up grading of the E&I cabling and the commissioning.

4. Nov 94 to Nov 96
M.I.E.S. / T.A. ENG (Total Oil Marine St. Fergus) - Systems/Electrical Technician.
Working for the Systems dept. within the Total gas facility at ST Fergus in Peterhead, I was
responsible for the execution of all Electrical and Data comms modifications to the various
systems on the plant eg: the Distributed Control System (DCS), General Control of all Plant and
Process via the Sub-system remote I/0 Controllers. I was exposed to Plant Safety System (PSS),
monitoring and control of Fire & Gas detection and ESD actions. Allen Bradley PLC's were used
for control of Compressors, Turbo-Expanders etc.
Other duties included general maintenance of the Security System (CCTV and Intruder).I
installed a Simulation System (Mod 300 DCS) which is used to Control the Plant 110 during
planned shutdowns. Building and Commissioning of the new ESDl Push-buttons (1.C.S Plant
Safety System) and the Inter-Panel wiring from drawings by Engineer. The end result being two
Push buttons which carry out a Level One Shutdown for all 3 Process Trains.

I have been working for the past 25years mainly within the Petrochemical maintenance industry
either Onshore / Offshore and overseas. Other sites worked on, include shipyards, hospitals,
factories and industrial I domestic installations. I have held different positions in the industry
from Electrician to Electrical Supervisor, Operations co-ordinator / Maint Supervisor 5th
week
and currently as Maintenance Team Leader.
I am always interested in learning new skills and feel I would make a good contribution when
working in a multi-skill environment. I consider myself to perform my duties in a professional
manner and always complete any task safely. I recently completed the APM 4 day accredited
course and will continue to Business studies within the Petrofac family to progress my career and
