I have many years experience in both the onshore and offshore oilfield industry working directly for both Drilling
and Service Contractors and am familiar with the majority of a Vessel/Rigs’ Electrical‐Electronic equipment:
Generator Control Systems, A/C ‐DC Drive Controls, Switchgear, Instrumentation, PLC automation controls, etc.
Read and understand electrical schematics.
While at Varco I worked on many turn‐key installation projects, once 3 at the same time in the Mobile Alabama
shipyards area. Most of the time I had to make up the installation wiring drawings, using Acad, as the project
progressed, and submit them to Engineering as: As‐Built drawings. I also did PLC software modifications, while
overseas, to get the equipment working properly. One instance was to provide for a BOP Koomey unit ‘stuck
switch’ indication. I also assisted the rig ET’s and electricians in resolving other equipment problems they weren’t
familiar with.
While at West Engineering I also worked, on a temporary assignment for Global SantaFe, Operations Support, in
Houston Texas. While there I resolved persistent remote communications problems, on Hydralift Equipment, drew
up easy to follow logic diagrams and also setup Commissioning and Ready to Drill procedures for Jack‐up rigs,
that could be readily customized for different equipment and configurations.
During some of the industry downturns, I had to find other work with friends or relatives.
I am considered a System Controls Expert and a proven problem solver, and can readily learn new systems and
equipment with minimal formal training. I am a very motivated self starter and believe my many years of
experience could be very beneficial your company.
