The Marina Barrage is a dam built across the Marina Channel in Singapore to create the country's 15th reservoir and first reservoir located in the heart of the city. It helps boost Singapore's water catchment area to two-thirds of the country's land area by working together with two other new reservoirs. The Marina Barrage also helps control floods in low-lying downtown areas and serves as a lifestyle attraction for recreational activities with its constant water level unaffected by tides.
