The Marina Barrage is a dam built across the Marina Channel in Singapore that has created the country's 15th and first inner-city reservoir, the Marina Reservoir. The Marina Reservoir augments Singapore's water supply, meeting over 10% of the country's current demand, and is part of an effort to increase Singapore's water catchment area to two-thirds of the country's land area. In addition to boosting water supply, the Marina Barrage acts as a flood control measure for low-lying downtown areas and has become a lifestyle attraction for recreational activities on the reservoir's constant water level.
