This document summarizes a MARAC Fall 2011 meeting in Bethlehem, PA about using social media and apps in archives. The meeting discussed institutional preparedness for being social, needing resources and commitment, and finding new uses and audiences through social media and earned media. The speakers at the meeting were archivists from the University of Rochester, Duke University, Virginia Historical Society, and Tufts University who would discuss spreading the use of social media and apps in archives.
