 Security Duties as per location
Officers’/SO’s/OR’s mess
Office work (various branches)

Runner and security assistants
Tradesmen
Duties of patrolling/night guards /access control
Wet/dry canteen & Ration store
Family welfare centre & Schools
Petrol pump/gas agency/tea shops/kiosks etc.

manpower management in HQs by syndicates.

Increased workload over the period of time
Duplication of work
Lesser use of technology

Ever increasing reports and returns
Inefficient ministerial staff
Lack of managerial skills of supervisory staff
Over reliance on efficient & hard working personnel
Increasing numbers of LMCs and their utilization
Obliged attachments.
Genuine problems of Patients/LMCs etc.
Too many courses/ temp duties/ extra curricular activities
Wastage of manpower
Excuse seekers/ malingers

REQUIRMENT NO. 3
Q. What are the remedies for overcoming the
problems of manpower management ?
 A 2 min exercise by syndicates to suggest remedies
to overcome problems of manpower management.
REMEDIES
Reducing attachments
• How can these be reduced ?
• Norms & policy
•Attachments should be made through Estt Branch only
•Number of assistants in offices should be reduced
drastically
• Maximum 12 Pers of coy may be attached in Bn HQ
Campus security as per location
Attachment should not be made for indefinite period so
that their professionalism for border duties is maintained.
Disciplinary attachment should not exceed 03 months.
Gas agency/tea shop/school/ kiosks etc extra manpower
may be provided out of profits of these agencies or
welfare fund.
Utilizing retired personnel's/widows for this purpose.
Once a decision is taken it should be implemented
seriously.
Positive utilization of M/CTs
Rationalization of course/cadre/temp duty
Avoiding wastage of manpower
Availability of SP coy / Trg coy

by your unit HQs to develop systems of

utilize manpower optimally.
