RESORT MANAGEMENT AND RESERVATION SYSTEM PROJECT REPORT.pdfKamal Acharya
The project developers created a system entitled Resort Management and Reservation System; it will provide better management and monitoring of the services in every resort business, especially D’ Rock Resort. To accommodate those out-of-town guests who want to remain and utilize the resort's services, the proponents planned to automate the business procedures of the resort and implement the system. As a result, it aims to improve business profitability, lower expenses, and speed up the resort's transaction processing. The resort will now be able to serve those potential guests, especially during the high season.
Using websites for faster transactions to reserve on your desired time and date is another step toward technological advancement. Customers don’t need to walk in and hold in line for several hours. There is no problem in converting a paper-based transaction online; it's just the system that will be used that will help the resort expand. Moreover, Gerard (2012) stated that “The flexible online information structure was developed as a tool for the reservation theory's two primary applications. Computer use is more efficient, accurate, and faster than a manual or present lifestyle of operation. Using a computer has a vital role in our daily life and the advantages of the devices we use.

Limman’s Center Inn Online Reservation and Billing SystemJason Castellano
The Inn industry is a business venture for the owner and a solace for the traveler and/or tourist. A customer can get stranded in the quest to secure a room to pass the night if he has not made adequate plans by the existing system. Through this study, it was realized that for a customer to be guaranteed a room, he or she has to physically come to the inn since the attendants paid more attention to that. He could also send a friend or relative who lives around the neighborhood of the inn to do the booking for him. There is nothing to bond the inn and the customer in person that he has indeed booked for a room. This study took Limman’s Center Inn as its case. It looked at creating an online reservation system to enable customers choose the room they wanted after a virtual tour to guarantee him a room.

3. INTRODUCTION
Any place or places with pleasant environmentand atmosphereconducive to
comfort, healthful relaxation and rest, offering food, sleeping accommodation
and recreational facilities to the public for a fee or remuneration.
Resort Management is used to provide facility to integrate the different branches of
resorts makes it possible to reserve the rooms and viewing of facilities to the
customers online. If any customer is willing to come to the resort, first he can see
the facilities available and cost effectiveness of the resort in the online. If he felt
good then he can reserve the rooms by sending self details with a secured manner.
In general if any customer is willing to go to a place he do not have any idea
about the branches related to particular resort in that place. But this project
provides detailed information about the branches available through out the country.
So that customer can register to any branch from his desktop in the internet.
Some times some people who like the food more, willing to know the
favorite dishes available in the resort. This project also provides the information
about the dishes they will be available branch wise.
For the people who are interested in enjoyment requires the information
about the swimming pools, tennis courts, indoor games etc. That information is
also available in the internet.
Ultimate thing which is provided in this project is the encryption mechanism
that will be provided while the customer submitted his personal details through
online. Online identity is also generated to view that id when he visit that resort.
4. For the resort administrators also this will provide full scheduling and status
of the customer visits, room status, bill payment details.
This project also shows how to take advantage of the skyrocketing demand for
"mini-vacations." Moreover it includes the concierge function, computer systems,
and health clubs/spafacility management.
Missions of resort management system
1. ResortManagement is used to provide facility to integrate the different
branches of resorts
2. It makes possible to reserve the rooms and viewing of facilities to the
customers online
3. If any customer is willing to come to the resort, first he can see the facilities
available and costeffectiveness of the resort in the online
5. Objective of resort management system
1.Primary objectiveof any systemis to makeprofit so profit is the basic goal of
our system
2.Setting up the systemenvironmentin such a way that if there are any changes
to be made it should be easy for us to make any changes
3.To achieve consistency in business and further expand the business for next
leavel
4. This is achieved through the proper maintenance of room reservations,
providing variety of dishes based on demand
Targets of resort management system
The target audience of this project is the visitors to the resort. So that the
main objective of this project is to attract the visitors towards the resort by
exploring the facilities in the resort and maintaining the customer information
confidential even in the internet.
1. To provide the best service with great hospitality, resort administrator will
maintain the track of the visitors and services to improve their performance
while providing the services. This is achieved through the proper
maintenance of room reservations, providing variety of dishes based on
demand.
2. Integration of all the branches of this resort can facilitate branch managers
and visitors to know the status of the reservation status of any branch.
3. Customers can reserve, cancel or postpone their visit through online.
6. Goals of resort management system
1.The primary goalis to make profit
2.The goal is to providebest services to customers with great hospitality and less
cost and improve their performancewhile providing the services
3.To become a brand name among the resorts in surrounding area and a
attraction center for customers
System requirements
1.Location
We need to select a good place for setting up of resort. Which must be attractive to customers.
2.Weather
It is one of the important factor to be considered as customers are mainly attracted by the
weather and scenes surrounding to resort.
3.Cost
To set up new resort definitely we need to have good financial support.Estimate total cost and to
get a good infrastructure for setting up of resort.
7. 4.Booking facility
The booking facility should be easy and simple for customers so it is better for them choose any
types of rooms they require.
5.Advertising
It compulsory for owner of resort to advertise his resort to people to survive in the competition

taken from customer satisfaction.
9.Acconting and Billing
There must be separate sub systemto carry out accounting section it includes billing to
customer stay,food and other services.
10.Profit and Loss statement
The overall annual reporting of the system must be taken and spent and gained things are
taken into consideration and profit/loss statements are taken out.
11.Insurance
The infrastructure must be insured in case of natural calamities. Employees also must be
insured for any accident case if occur.
8. SYSTEM ANALYSIS
Feasibility Study:
Feasibility is an important phase in software development process. It enables the
developers to have an assessment of the product being developed. It refers to the feasibility study
of product in terms of outcomes of the product, operational use and technical support required
for implementation it.
Feasibility study should be performed on the basis of various criteria and parameters.
The various feasibility studies are:
1. Economic Feasibility
2. Operational Feasibility
3. Technical Feasibility
Economic Feasibility:
It refers to the benefits or outcomes we are deriving from the product as compared to the
total cost we are spending for developing the product.
In the present system, the development of new product greatly enhances the accuracy of
the system and reduces the delay in the processing of applications and generating the reports.
The errors can be greatly reduced and at the same time providing the great level of security. Here
we don’t need additional equipment except memory of required capacity. No need for spending
money on client for maintenance because the database used is web enabled database.
9. Operational Feasibility:
It refers to the feasibility of the product to be operational. Some products may work very
well at design and implementation but may fail in the real time environment. It includes the
study of human required and their technical expertise.
In the present system, the entering the details, updating the details and reports generations
are perfect and quick in operations.
Technical Feasibility:
It refers to whether the software that is available in the market fully supports the present
application .It studies the pros and cons of using particular software for the development and its
feasibility. It also studies the additional time needed to be given to people to make the
application work.
In the present system the user interface is user friendly and does not require much
expertise and training .It just needs mouse click to do operations and to generate reports. The
software that is used for developing is highly suitable for the present applications since the users
require fast access to the web pages with a high degree of security. This is achieved through
integration of web server and database server in the same environment.
10. Drawbacks of Existing System:
1. No proper vision of resort facilities available to the customers.
2. Resort market scope is also very less without making it online.
3. Integration and information sharing is difficult among different branches.
4. Customers can not reserve the rooms before their visit to the resort.
5. Customers can not get the information about that resort and branches it is having.
6. For the resort administrators also tracking of room status, dishes available and customer
management are difficult to maintain.
13. Sub systems
Our system consists of the following subsystems:
1. Resort Branch Admin subsystem
a. Staff Management
b. Room Management
c. Dishes Management
d. Other Entertainment Management
e. Customer Management
f. Report generation for each transaction
2. Customer subsystem
a. Reservation of Rooms in the Resort
b. Reservation Cancel or Postponement
Resort Branch Admin subsystem
Branch admin or manager is responsible for all the maintenance of staff, rooms,
dishes being prepared, other entertainment, customer management, report
generation for each transaction
Customer subsystem
Customers can either reserve the room or cancel or postpone the reservation
