This document discusses the importance of teaching stewardship to children. It outlines four focus areas: mainstreaming stewardship education, building trust, empowering partners, and disseminating information. The document argues that stewardship education for children is important because habits formed early in life influence character development and because the Bible instructs parents to teach their children. It provides techniques for teaching children such as helping them recognize God's blessings, be grateful, see how generosity supports the church, and view stewardship as a lifestyle. The goal is to help children become disciples of Christ by understanding who God is and how to respond to Him.
Tithing and offerings are two interesting subjects, which many people have different meanings and applications. While tithing and offering are certainly biblical concepts, some people teaches that tithe is a command and offering is a sacrificial ‘will’ of a Christian; some also teaches that these are not so. What does the Bible teaches regarding tithing and offerings under the New Covenant?
In order to understand how tithing fits (or doesn't fit) into the life of a Christian or a religious person, we must first examine tithing as it was originally commanded, its meaning, and its purpose. Offerings which sometimes interchangeably defined to be tithes; one needs to understand the meaning of sacrifice, free will, giving, and sharing.
This book explains in detail: the doctrines, the command, the culture, the principles, and giving of tithes and offerings. It also outlines the most frequently asked questions on tithing, offerings, and giving.

Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Service for Trust Services.
4. First Focus Area
To bring stewardship
education to Everyone in
the Church.
5. The Five Original Life Purposes
• Acknowledge and act as creatures
(One Creator)
• Rely on God (God provided for All)
• Behave as representatives of God (In
God’s Image)
• Maintain relationship with God (God
Visited the Garden)
• Accept responsibilities (God’s
Commission)
6. Objectives of the Presentation
1. Explaining why it is decisive to provide
stewardship education to Children.
1. Providing techniques and tools to teach
Stewardship education to Children
7. Part I
The Importance of Stewardship
Education for Children
8. The Basic Rational
What is acquired during childhood is
withheld for the all life!
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he
should go, And when he is old he
will not depart from it.
9. A Divine Commission
Deuteronomy 6:6,7a
“ And these words which I
command to you today shall
be in your heart. You shall
teach teach them diligently
to your children...”
10. Counsel from E.G. White
Too much importance cannot be placed
upon the early training of children. The
lessons learned, the habits formed,
during the years of infancy and
childhood, have more to do with the
formation of the character and the
direction of the life than have all the
instruction and training of the after
years.
Ministry
of Healing, p. 380
11. Counsel from E.G. White
It is during the first years of a
child's life that his mind is most
susceptible to impressions either
good or evil. During these years
decided progress is made in either
a right direction or a wrong one.
Ministry
of Healing, p. 380
12. Other Reasons to Provide Stewardship
Education to Children
Jesus loves Children (Luke 18:16;
Matthew 18:2-6; Mark 10:13–16)
Never too young to give (John
6:9)…Childhood is the time to develop
lifetime givers.
Stewardship helps build self-esteem.
Ads contribute to a lifetime of poor
self-image and lasting discontent.
13. Other Reasons to Provide
Stewardship Education to Children
Stewardship brings joy and
contentment.
It is impossible to be grateful and
unhappy at the same time (Acts
20:15)
The giving and spending trend is
changing among the new generation.
Declined in giving.
Spending 5 times more per year
than previous generation.
Teenagers are called “Green
Machines.”
14. Further Explanations for the Actual
Giving Trend
• New technologies, material
possessions and lifestyles that would
have once been considered as luxuries
and “wants” are now “needs.
• No one is telling them that giving is a
need for the believer.
15. Other Reasons to Provide
Stewardship Education to Children
• It creates a sense of belonging and
ownership in the kingdom.
• The Economic Crisis prevailing in
today’s world.
17. The first providers of stewardship
education to children are the parents;
others will build upon this foundation.
18. Four Basics of Stewardship
Education to Children
i. Help children to see the blessings
provided by God.
i. Teach children to be grateful to God
i. Show children how generosity has built
our church and is supporting the church
activities.
i. Help children to see stewardship as a
lifestyle.
19. Help Children to See the
Blessings provided by God.
– Challenge children to make a list of
all God’s gifts to them.
– Regularly compliment children on
their special gifts – simple things
like nice handwriting, pretty smile,
nice coat to keep you warm, etc.
– Encourage children to recognize
their talents and the talents of
other people.
20. Teach Children to be grateful
to God
• Ask children on a daily basis to name
something for which they are thankful.
• Ask children to write a prayer or a
thank-you letter to God.
• Read and Discuss the Judgment of the
Nations (Matthew 25:31-46) Show how
service is a mean of being thankful to
God.
• Encourage children to pray and offer
services to the needy.
21. Show how Generosity has Built and
is Supporting the Church
– Tell children the history of the
church and the role generosity has
played.
– Help children make a list of church
activities and also of the needed
resources.
– Invite a volunteer to come and share
his testimony and joy about his
service.
– Ask the children to question their
parents and encourage the parents to
share about their stewardship
experience.
22. Help Children to See
Stewardship as Lifestyle
Teach Time Management
- Record all daily activities and time
spent for one week.
- See if adequate time is provided for
the 6 life priority zones of a steward:
Time with God, Time for the Family,
Time for Oneself, Time for
Working/Studying, Time for the
Church, Time for Others.
23. Help Children to See
Stewardship as a lifestyle
Teach the Basics of Managing Money:
(1) There is a limited supply of money.
(2) You cannot have everything.
(3) Your current spending decision will
impact your other goals.
24. The 3 S of Money Management
• Spending. How to create a budget? Help
them to differentiate between “wants” and
“needs.” Give Children the opportunity to
manage a certain amount of money.
• Sharing. Teach the principle of tithe,
offering and supporting the needy.
• Saving. Teach the principle of delayed
gratification; giving up today's desires
(short-term) for future benefits (long-term)
25. Help Children to See
Stewardship as a lifestyle
• Bring children to recognize their abilities
and talents.
• Provide opportunities and encourage
children to use and develop their abilities
and talents.
• Make it a joyful memory.
26. A Divine Commission
Deuteronomy 6:6,7a
“ And these words which I
command to you today shall
be in your heart. You shall
teach teach them diligently
to your children...”
27. Walk Your Talk
Deuteronomy 6:,7-9
“ Talk about them when you sit
in your home and when you walk
along the road, wen you lie down
and when you get up. Tie them as
symbols on your hand and bind
them on your foreheads. Write
them on the doorframes of your
houses and on your gates.”
28. Resources
• The Wise Steward Award for Adventurers
and The Stewardship Honor for
Pathfinders.
• Dollars and Sense, a storybook about
stewardship.
• 4 full camp meeting programs to teach
stewardship to various groups: God’s
Special Gift Me!(below 4 years);Sense-ational
Stewards (4-6 years);Partners with
Jesus (7-9 years); Earth Stewards (10-11
years).
29. OUR VISION
All of us in Full Partnership with
Him, Accomplishing the final
mission.
30. Conclusion
Our first aim is not to increase the income of
the Church but to bring our kids to become
disciples of Christ.
We do so by providing answers to these two
critical questions: Who God is? and “ How
should we respond to who God is?”
The results will be children who are both
growing spiritually and using their various
resources to build the kingdom.
Editor's Notes
The working document of the stewardship ministries (see other presentation) is articulated around 4 focus areas…..
Mainstreaming … Bringing the stewardship message to everyone.
Building Trust … A trustworthy atmosphere; personal trust and organizational trust
Empowering … Stronger partners
Trust Services …. Disseminating information and facilitate accessibility to service providers.
We believe that if we focus on these areas we will reach our objectives.
This presentation is classified in the category of mainstreaming:
How to reach out to children with the stewardship message.
See presentation on « Rediscovering the Original Life Purposes »
Stewardship is to live according to the original life purposes
Stewardship is the response to God’s love…Children are therefore not exempted from being stewards.
Attitude towards giving is developed at a very early stage of life (7-9 years old)
Stewardship tells our children that they are worthy and valuable because they have received much.
US Statistics about Spending
(Spending on and by teenagers has reached $208.7 billion in 2011, up from $189.7 billion in 2006, even if the population 12-17 years has declined by 3%)
In general, giving only happens after all our needs are met
It can help to reduce drop out among the young generation.
Stewardship is broader than tithe and offering.
It has to do with life management.
Some basic life skills are more easily acquired during childhood
Be careful of exposing children to highly competitive situations.
The decisive element in providing stewardship education to children is to exemplify the life of a faithful steward in all life situations.
