Editor's Notes

  • #2 The Working Document was presented as part of the Stewardship Report at the 2013 year end committee of the SID
  • #3 This is the title of the Stewardship Ministries and Trust Services Working Document.
  • #4  The time frame for the present Working Document is January 2014 to June 2015.
  • #5 For today, we are going to report on two objectives.
  • #6 To Increase giving by 60% by december 2014: In the table we are comparing figures for the years 2010 and 2012, we can see an increase in tithe of 27.9 %. We are on target to reach the 60% increase in december 2014.
  • #7 This situation is indicating that we have today more financial resources to accomplish the Mission.
  • #8 However, we tend to focus on volume of money collected in Tithe and Offerings without paying enough attention to the number of people returning tithe and participating in a systematic offering plan.
  • #9 The Call to faithfulness has to be taken more seriously. It is a matter of salvation!
  • #10 These figures, based on the report for the 1st quarter of 2013, need to be interpreted with caution. More information are needed for us to be conclusive concerning the degree of faithfulness in the SID. But they tend to indicate a serious weakness in this aspect of faithfulness.
  • #12 By focusing on these elements, without neglecting others that are relevant for the various contexts, we believe that the level of faithfulness will improve.
  • #14 Explanation
  • #15 The expected outcomes for all the focus areas have two purposes: They inform about what should be done and they act as indicators concerning our effectiveness in each focus area
  • #18 Each Union or Conference is invited to add percentages of realization for each outcome. This will make them measurable and hence facilitate assessment.
  • #20 Explanation
  • #24 The rational behind this focus area is simple: Stronger members make stronger partners
  • #27 It is an example of using the Basic Life Skills Seminar as a way to reach out to the community. It is another effective way of practicing comprehensive evangelism.
  • #29 It is the unknown ministry inside the SDA Church worldwide.
  • #32 All materials produced by SID Stewardship Ministries and Trust Services are classified according to these four focus areas.
  • #33 The finality of the Stewardship Ministries and Trust Services is mission. We want all entities to enjoy of enough resources when accomplishing God’s given mission. God has already provided abundantly. Our faithfulness will hasten His coming.
