Matthew 21:1-11
1. Jesus submitted to
God’s plan with a
public demonstration
of His IDENTITYIDENTITY.
Previously, He said,
“My TIMETIME is not yet
come.” (John 2:4)
Jesus once ESCAPEDESCAPED
from the crowd.
(John 6:15)
Jesus often said,
“Don’t TELLTELL
anyone.”
(Matt 9:30; 17:9)
Now He publicly
identifies Himself
as MESSIAHMESSIAH.
2. Jesus ORGANIZEDORGANIZED
this demonstration;
it was not
spontaneous!
It was GOD’S time.
“The hour has
come.” (John 17:1)
So Jesus, the Lamb
of God, would DIEDIE
at the same time as
the Passover lambs.
It was His initiative;
He KNEWKNEW what they
would DODO to Him!
It fulfilled prophecy
(Zech. 9:9) and
was in God’s PLANPLAN.
Jesus came to
Jerusalem
VOLUNTARILYVOLUNTARILY.
They could not
arrest Him unless
He ALLOWEDALLOWED it.
He was a WILLINGWILLING
sacrifice for all
who would
BELIEVEBELIEVE.
This “PARADEPARADE” is a
demonstration of
God’s love for you.
This confrontation
resulted in His
arrest.
His arrest led to
His DEATHDEATH.
He died because
He LOVEDLOVED you
so much!
