This document discusses how companies can make advanced analytics work for them. It argues that fully exploiting data and analytics requires developing capabilities in three areas: choosing the right data, building models that predict and optimize outcomes, and transforming companies' capabilities. Leaders should invest in aligning managers across the organization to support using data and analytics to improve business performance. While big data and analytics promise gains, companies often struggle to realize results because systems remain disconnected from decision-making. An integrated approach focusing on the desired business impact is needed.
