Objectives of the paper
 The overall purpose of this paper is to review the literature on the barriers that
women face in becoming entrepreneurs which is an important factor in ensuring
that women are included in the social economically mainstream.
 Entrepreneurship is a factor that promotes women empowerment by giving them
incomes and enables creation of wealth more specifically this paper will review
literature on how women are denied access to ownership and control over
resources. These resources are crucial in enabling women to exploiting
opportunities and starting businesses.
 The paper will review literature on whether and how women are denied social
interaction and access to social space. It’s through social interaction that business

not enabled to have social interaction beyond their homes, they can not engage in
business activities.
