Influencers are important for brands to engage with as word of mouth is increasingly driving purchases. Influencers of varying engagement levels can help encourage word of mouth for brands.
When developing an influencer strategy, brands should determine goals, listen to target audiences, choose tools carefully while considering resources, get to know influencers, choose the right engagement methods, and build honest relationships. The Dutch software sector contributes significantly to the Dutch economy, generating €25 billion in turnover and €17.3 billion in gross added value. It employs 192,000 full-time workers, with 68,000 in software development and 14,000 in R&D. While CBS estimates are lower, the sector contributes roughly 2.8% of the Netherlands' GDP according to this report. Most companies are small, with two-thirds having just one employee, but large companies (500+ workers) generate 29.3% of employment. The sector is concentrated around universities and along the Utrecht-Gelderland border.
This document provides a rationale for service innovation policies and strategies. It discusses two main arguments for government intervention in service innovation:
1) Market failures - Service firms underinvest in innovation due to an inability to fully capture the benefits of their investments. This leads to suboptimal innovation from a societal perspective.
2) Systemic failures - Service innovation processes are distributed and involve many actors, which can lead to coordination problems across the service innovation system.
The document examines different policy strategies and instruments that governments use to address these market and systemic failures and promote service innovation. It emphasizes that service innovation is distinct from manufacturing innovation in being multi-dimensional, co-created with customers, and arising from distributed innovation processes rather than
Digital Agenda for Europe Feasibility Study on Statistical Methods on Internet as a Source of Data Gathering
[1] The study evaluates the feasibility of using Internet as a Data (IaD) source to complement traditional statistical sources for measuring socio-economic phenomena. [2] Nine IaD methods are assessed across three categories: user centric, network centric, and site centric. [3] Field tests of three methods found that user centric measurements using a generic OS monitor is promising but needs improvement, while network centric and site centric methods have challenges around validity, social acceptance, and legal issues that require further development and testing.
Crafting smart textiles : a meaningful way towards societal sustainability in...swaipnew
This document discusses crafting smart textiles as a way to promote sustainability in the fashion industry. It begins by introducing the importance of crafting and connecting it to industrialized production. It then presents a student project that merged quick response (QR) codes with traditional embroidery, inspiring further explorations combining craftsmanship technologies and textiles. The document argues that learning from traditional crafts and their emphasis on quality and community can help guide the development of smart textiles. Integrating craft values may help ensure new smart garments lead to more sustainable outcomes.

This document discusses 5 modes of web use:
1. Purposeful use - Using the web to get something done by searching for information or performing transactions.
2. Opportunistic use - Browsing the web for leisure and entertainment rather than to complete a specific task.
3. Orienting - Checking sites like email, news, and social media as part of daily routines.
4. Respite - Taking a brief break from work by browsing habitual sites for distraction.
5. Lean-back internet - Using the web as a conduit for streaming entertainment media in the background.
The document argues that understanding these broader contexts of web use can help move beyond thinking of search engines solely for the
Communication technologies were created to bridge geographical distance, but people have discovered they allow new experiences by taking advantage of being apart. Being apart enables careful self-expression through crafted messages and avoids unintended emotions during difficult conversations. Technologies should not aim to replicate face-to-face interactions, but support the unique benefits of distance communication.
This document discusses five ways that technology could support human memory systems:
1) Recollecting - Helping users mentally re-live specific past experiences through cues like images, places, people.
2) Reminiscing - Enabling users to re-live past experiences for emotional reasons, either alone or socially by sharing photos.
3) Retrieving - Helping users find specific information from the past like documents or webpages through searches.
4) Reflecting - Providing abstract views of personal data to allow users to examine patterns over time or view experiences differently.
5) Remembering intentions - Aiding users in remembering future planned events or deferred actions like running errands.
Designing lingua bytes a tangible language learning system for non- or hard...swaipnew
The document describes the design of LinguaBytes, an interactive play-and-learning system for non- or hardly speaking toddlers between 1-4 years old. The system aims to stimulate early language development in a flexible way suitable for children with different skills and backgrounds. It was created through a research-through-design process involving multiple prototypes tested with children. The goal was to design for diversity by allowing each child to develop their language abilities in their own preferred way and pace.
This document is the transcript of an inaugural lecture given by Prof. Caroline Hummels on September 28, 2012 at Eindhoven University of Technology. In the lecture, Hummels discusses the need for societal transformation to address major challenges and her vision of using technology and design to embrace embodiment and enable transformation. She outlines five implications of a phenomenological design approach, including that designing is about creating opportunities for meaning to arise through interaction, exploring new territories through prototyping, and opening up the abstract to the sensorial through intuition and making.
From collection to reflection philip mendelsswaipnew
Philip Mendels conducted research on how to better support designers' reflection during their design process. He was motivated by his experience in industrial design education, where he found it challenging to gain overview over scattered digital and physical work to facilitate reflection. His research involved developing software called Freed, which allows designers to flexibly organize their digital work on an unconstrained canvas. Freed was evaluated through use by design students and researchers at Eindhoven University of Technology.
Applying intercultural markers obtained from cooking in the design process. brunswaipnew
This document discusses how designers can gain cultural insights from cooking to inspire their designs. It describes an exploration where students from different cultures prepared traditional meals together. By observing each other cook, the students identified important "cultural markers" in each other's cuisine. They then designed cooking tools for their own culture that incorporated an important cultural marker from another culture. This allowed the designers to learn about other cultures through direct experience with cooking and helped them design products that respected cultural values.

The document describes the design of a pervasive outdoor game called HeartBeat for children ages 8-12. The game aims to promote physical activity and social interaction like traditional outdoor games. It uses small portable devices and physiological heart rate sensors to detect when a player's heart rate increases, causing the opposing team's devices to beep at the same rhythm to locate the player. An evaluation with 32 children found the game successfully encouraged physical activity and socializing as intended.
This document is Kees Overbeeke's inaugural lecture as a professor at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven on October 26, 2007. The lecture discusses Overbeeke's beliefs that have guided his research group, the Designing Quality in Interaction Group, in designing for human perceptual-motor, emotional, cognitive, and social skills. Some key projects from the group include interactive lamps that respond to touch. Overbeeke argues that meaning emerges from action and embodiment rather than rational thought alone. The goal of the department is to design intelligent systems, products, and services that adapt based on user needs. Overbeeke's research group sits at the intersection of professional design practice and academic research.
opwekkingsinstallaties. In een reeks van work-
shops en aanvullende gesprekken is de afgelopen
maanden een dialoog gestart met de Industrie,
met als belangrijksteaanwezigede asset owners
Essent en Delta. Uitkomst is het voorstel om
een aantal innovatieprojecten te starten op de
geTdentificeerde vraagstukken en crosssectorale
besprekingen aante gaan met andere WCM
aandachtgebieden.'Een van de belangrijkste
redenen waarom behoefte bestaat aan onder-
houdsinnovaties is de komst van marktwerking in
de energiesector. Daardoor is het kostenbewust-
zijn bij asset owners verhoogd. Logischerwijs is
onderhoud aan kapitaalintensieve goedereneen
grote kostenpost en daarmee direct eenbelang-
rijk aandachtsgebied voor hen. Zowel de asset
owners als de onderhoudsleveranciers hebben
tijdens de workshops aangevengraag met elkaar
tot innovaties en optimalisatie te komen,' aldus
Cnossen. 'Een van de belangrijke kansen die
tijdens de diverse workshops gei'dentificeerd zijn,
is performance based contracting. Eenaanpak
werking.
data. Door de opkomst van duurzame energie
veranderen de karakteristieken van de elektrici-
teitscentrales in toenemende mate. Daarmee
verandert ook de onderhoudsvraag, want de
piekbelastingen en belastingsprofielen hebben
nun weerslag op het onderhoudsschema. De
toenemende variatie in energieopwekkingvergt
een slimmere manier van onderhoudsplanning.
Het slim combineren van proces en onderhouds
data vormt daarbij een interessant gebied voor
optimalisatie in de bedrijfsvoerlng. 'Je kunt hier
ook andersom redeneren,' aldus Cnossen.Bin-
nen elke praductieorganisatie wordt voorvelerlei
doeleinden data verzameld en vastgelegd; vari-
erend van gegevens in ERP systemen enerzijds,
tot procesbesturing en ManufacturingExecutions
Systems anderzijds.
windenergie. Het onlangs bij Pieken in de Delta
ingediende projectvoorstel World Class Wind-
turbine Maintenance is illustratief voorvrijwel
werkpakketten gericht op Performance Based
Contracting, technische innovaties op het gebied
van Condition Based Maintenance, alternatieve
samenwerking- en organisatiemodellen.
Kennisoverdracht
voren is gekomen, is kennisoverdracht.
heen weinig aandacht gekregen.
Maintenance sectoren. Eeninteressante optie is
om sessiestelkens op een van de Maintenance
parken in ontwikkeling te organiseren om cross
sectorale samenwerking te bevorderen. Op basis
van de verkregen input in deze bijeenkomsten
willen wij in ieder geval zo snel mogelijkeen pro-
partners innovatieprojecten geformuleerdkunnen
worden.'
