Now to answer, “What is Testing?” we can go by the famous definition of Myers, which says, “Testing is the process of executing a program with the intent of finding errors”

software testing is necessary to make sure the product or application is defect free, as per customer specifications. Software testing identifies fault whose removal increases the software Quality and Increases the software reliability.Testing effort is directly proportional to the complexity of the program.
From http://wiki.directi.com/x/AgAa - This is a 24 slide internal presentation covering virtues of Automated Testing vs Manual Testing. Inkeeping with our agile adoption this presentation covers various advantages (11 to be specific) obtained in using TDD and Automated Testing as opposed to Manual Testing

Software testing is an investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the product or service under test.
Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation.
Why is Software Testing Important to a business?
Software testing is a process to determine the quality of the software developed by a developer or programmer. It is a methodological study intended to evaluate the quality-related information of the product. Understanding of the important features and advantages of software testing helps businesses in their day-to-day activities.
Testing can be done in two ways, manual testing and automated testing. Manual software testing is done by human testers, who manually check the code and report bugs in it. In case of automated testing, testing is performed by a computer using software such as WinRunner, LoadRunner, etc.
We investigate one of the most popular approaches to creating software: test driven development. From the basic understanding why tests are important to a new software development paradigm, where you start with tests and them do the implementation. We glance over different areas of testing and see how one should really do the software testing in different situation.

Unit testing is one of the software testing types which includes the initial testing phase where the smallest components or the modules of a software are tested individually.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. (VIII) Maintenance or Support: After successful software release and training our project
management defines a Change Control Board(CCB) to receive queries or requests in the future from
the customer on that software from that customer.
This CCB consists of a few developers, a few test engineers and the project manager. This team
receives two types of requests from the customer during the utilization of the software.
(Enhancement Correction) Change Request
Enhancement Missed Defect / Latent Defect
Impact Analysis Impact Analysis

2. Testing Techniques:
There are 3 types of testing techniques in STLC(System Testing Life Cycle).
Documents Testing Techniques
White Box Testing Techniques
Black Box Testing Techniques
(A) Documents Testing Techniques:
These techniques are also known as verification testing techniques. The responsible persons use these
techniques to review
BRSSRSHLDLLDs
There are 3 types of documentation testing techniques.
Walk Through: verifying a document from the
Inspection: verification of a document for some particular aspect or functionality in the
software and concentrating an specific.
Peer Review: Requesting peers or colleagues to verify the document.
(B) White Box Testing Techniques:
These techniques are also known as Glass Box or Open Box or Clear Box testing techniques. These
techniques are applicable for programs in Unit Testing and for interface programs in integration
testing.
There are 4 types of white box testing techniques.
1) Basic Path Coverage
2) Control Structure Coverage
3) Program Technique Coverage
4) Mutation Coverage
(C)Black Box Testing Techniques:
These are also known as close box testing techniques. These techniques are applicable on the
Software builds. There are 4 types of black box testing techniques.
1) Boundary Value Analysis(BVA)
Whenever one need to develop the test cases for a range kind of input then it is suggested to
use a technique called BVA.
BVA says that instead of testing on whole range, just concentrate on the boundaries if at all
the boundaries are working fine then one can come to a conclusion then the whole range is
working fine.
3. 2) Equivalence Class Partitioning:(ECP)
Whenever one need to develop the test cases for huge range of data or a mixture of so many
requirements then it is suggested to use a technique ECP.
Equivalence Class Partition says that divides the inputs into different classes and then write
the test cases for each class separately.
3) Decision Tables
4) State transmission diagrams
5) Error guessing
