/r/streetwear is an extremely interesting fashion
magazine that began as a forum on the website
reddit. This is where the magazine came from.
/r/streetwear uses effective and simple design and
colour layout it bases everything against a similar
whitish grey background and often uses black and
white images, by doing this when the magazine
actually uses colour it completely highlights what the
writer wants you to see. By using contrast the
magazine can direct the users attention in a very
effective way. This can be seen on the next slide
when highlighting the brand name. The magazine
has been designed as large with a lot of quality
information and heavy paragraphs as the community
around streetwear tends to be niche and readers will
be wanting information not just images that can be
seen every time they check their phones. Streetwear
lovers love quality and the magazine aims to reflect
this. The website for this magazine is very small and
it only sells the magazine however its such a niche
mag this is somewhat expected it is new and small
and does not have the money for an amazing
website.

6. Magazineno.2 Mix Mag is the biggest EDM magazine out there
and tends to take a similar approach to each
magazine it produces. The magazine uses the
same iconic MixMag banner in every issue along
with a predominant center image of the main
focus of the issue. The face of the headline
article. This simple but striking design is easily
recognizable off the shelf. The magazine uses
consistent colour schemes of either the genre or
article. The layout of the magazines is always
similar, each mag also tends to include a double
page poster. Inside the magazine articles tend to
include several images on each page followed by
the article in columns. This is an effective way of
filling the page and making an interesting
colorful read for the reader. MixMags website I
found to be the easiest to use out of the three it
was set up very professionally and worked
smoothly, the colours were appealing and the
site matched the magazine.

10. Magazineno. DJ MAG this music magazine showcases and
highlights the greatest dj’s in the world it
uses bold writing and a simple but effective
colour scheme, like MixMag it uses a large
profile cover image to instantly grab the
readers attention. The use of free products
is once again also used as well a great word
to attract readers. In the double page
spread the magazine uses large full page
sized images followed by the articles on top
of them. This means there's no confusion
what image is related to what article. Its set
out simply and fairly boxy making it easy to
read and easy to tell information. The
website is also very easy to use and
navigate, it gives information about the
magazine, how to get it, alternate info such
as events and its partnerships etc etc. I
found it easy to find what I was looking for.

In NME the cover uses a consistent colour
scheme through the pictures and the colour of
the artists in general in this case the colour red
for the Strokes. The photo for this issue is black
and white being very old and nme have outlined
the headlines in black making it look more as if
the text is actually in the original photo, and
blending in smoothly. The colour scheme is
followed very strictly using only three colours
which is actually quite striking as they are very
bold, the magazine would definitely stand out on
the shelf. The majority of double page spreads in
NME tend to follow the same theme with a huge
striking photo and a half page article on one side,
this seems to often be accompanied by a large
bold quote across the page. By doing this you can
see its clearly the headline article and get a jist of
what they are talking about and attract you to
read it. The website of NME I found to be again
extremely easy to use, NME has a huge amount
of resources so the site was very well made.
Clearly set out and easy to find what you were
looking for again with that consistent colour
scheme.
