Conclusion
To conclude, my questionnaire has provided me with a range of key information
that can be used to build up my magazine. For instance, when I asked the
respondents what they would expect to see in a rock magazine, the majority
answered with Interviews and Concert/Album reviews (common conventions of any
music magazine). This demonstrates a clear interest in these topics and that I
should include them in my magazine. Another question that provided me with
useful answers was what price would the respondents be willing to pay for the
magazine- the most popular answers ranged between £1-£2.99. This is relatively
cheap for a magazine but does not mean the quality should be any less. This does
mean that I should be cautious when pricing my magazine as the audience may not
be willing to pay a high price. Furthermore, the question regarding which colours
they would prefer to expect to see in a rock magazine gives me insight into an
appropriate colour scheme for this genre- with dark colours being the most
popular. I should take this into consideration when editing my magazine as it could
be beneficial wheninitially attracting the audience’s attention.
These questions were asked at break time of a Wednesday morning. Therefore, the
results may be swayed a little as they may have been filled out in a rush or the
respondents may have misread questions. In addition, the answers will not be
completely representative due to the fact that only one age range was asked, if I
had asked respondents with a wide age range, my answers may have been more
representative- but I will keep this in mind when doing my magazine.
