This document outlines the goals and content of a leadership foundations course. The goals are to review leadership models, introduce the basis of leadership models, develop a taxonomy of leadership, and do group work. It then reviews 12 leadership models and discusses leader-centric and follower-centric models of study. Finally, it proposes a taxonomy of leadership with 6 characteristics including the leader's role, group members and structure, followers, resource control, and what is missing from current leadership.
