Through ballroom dancing, it contributes to muscle toning by forcing the
dancers to resist their partner's' body strength. The fast turns, spinning and two-
stepping all contribute to muscle building.
2. Why is there a need to classify ballroom dances?
Learning a variety of dance styles allows for versatility in the way your body
is able to translate movement and choreography. When you have a wider vocabulary
to work from, your ability to comprehend and take ownership over your learning (be
is dance or otherwise) enhances.
3. What is the importance of learning at least 2 dances? Cite practical situations
where you can apply these learnings.
Learning, thought, creativity, and intelligence don't just come from the brain
alone, but from the entire body. Movement combinations increase memory, order, and
sequencing skills. Creating dances also increases self-esteem which is so important to
learning.
For example, Ma’am Cita wants to be a teacher in the future. And she wanted
to take the education major in Physical Education. Even if she is quite thin, she take
the course that her heart wanted and needed. After a long journey of studying, she
graduated as a PE teacher and now a public teacher at Dippog National High School.
She also became an active and smart older sister and a daughter to her family. She
also earns money even weekends because she works as zumba instructor at Barangay
Dagupan. In short, she is not only benefit by money but also she has a healthy and
lively body that she lived.
