ABSTRACT: Adolescence offence among upper-class boys remains shrouded in mystery. So scanty is our
knowledge of this group that a public image of the upper-class adolescent is non-existent, and neither the barest
trace nor suspicion is available of him as delinquent. Although the hard knot of delinquency (behavior that is apt
to try any public tolerance) is located in the bottom levels of the working class, limited studies (using selfreported techniques) have revealed delinquency throughout the class structure. But nothing is known about the
delinquency of boys who attend expensive private schools. The purpose of this paper is to study Bangladeshi
upper class adolescents’ involvement in different violent and criminal activities and their growing tendency to
commit acts of violence in high schools and the reasons behind them. This study therefore aims to provide such
data by attempting to understand the different influential factors that are closely related with the involvement of
adolescence offence in Bangladesh. This study is based on primary data of 200 upper class adolescents who are
involved in different criminal activities of Dhaka city, 40 parents, 30 secondary school teachers, 20 social
workers and on review of secondary literatures. After collecting the data they are transcribed, tabulated and
analyzed in terms of the research objectives. This study shows that parents’ detachment, low internet cost, social
media, reluctantness of law and enforcement agencies and friends’ influence play the most important role on
upper class adolescence offence. This study also recommends some ways to mitigate this problem.

Introduction
In this presentation we will discuss substance abuse in San Joaquin County California.
Drug addiction is a problem for people in every community in the United States. From growing urban areas to beautiful suburbs to the friendly rural areas, people of all ages, genders and cultures struggle with addiction. Strong family backgrounds and socioeconomic status do not protect people from drug abuse. With more news reports about drug addiction and overdoses, it becomes clearer that drugs are a problem everywhere, even in places as idyllic as California. “San Joaquin County’s rate of drug-induced deaths is 56% higher than average rate across California (17.3 per 100,000 compared to 11.1 per 100,000)” ( San Joaquin County 2016 CHNA, 2016).

“San Joaquin County faces many of the same challenges seen throughout the state, but often to a greater degree” ( San Joaquin County 2016 CHNA, 2016). San Joaquin has one of the highest rates in California for diabetes mortality. Youth development tends to be undermined trauma and violence, unhealthy family functioning, and insufficient access to youth facilities. Poverty and unemployment are high compared to the state. Major concerns are often associated with family and community violence. “41.1% of community survey respondents report that drug abuse is among the most concerning health behaviors in their community” (San Joaquin County 2016 CHNA, 2016). There is a lack of safe and affordable housing. San Joaquin county ranks 9th highest in the nation for most polluted air.

The county is located in Northern California's Central Valley just east of the very highly populated nine-county San Francisco Bay Area region and is separated from the Bay Area by the Diablo Range of low mountains with its Altamont Pass.

A conceptual statement and vision for the project is approached for development of design
process after a detail research study of individual students thesis design project. Primary
Design process begins by conceptual understanding of students which carries the foundation
of thesis project, research analysis for design are progressed by site issues, social, cultural,
and physical context, theoretical and pragmatic approach, phenomenological or infrastructure
issues etc; which are few of the key issues for the development of a strong design along with
other project specific concerns of each students individual project which clearly signifies and
expresses the attitude of students towards the project and its content. In order to realize the
projects potential students must delve into three dimensional study of project onto existing
parameters of site, by studying structure and materials, spatial order of floor plans and
circulation patterns, lighting, access, vistas and environment etc.
Architectural competitions are no longer simply professional praxis for
architects and a recurrent exercise for students at schools of architecture. The competition has also turned into a field of research, and this
book is part of an effort constituting the architectural competition as a field
for studies with scholarly claims. The first doctoral dissertations on competitions were presented in the 1990s in Europe. Another clear manifestation of
research interest is the growth and spread of scholarly conferences on architectural competitions.
The contributions to the book show in a convincing way that the architectural competition is an interesting and rewarding object for research. The
competition processes bear rich empirical findings to which one may refer for
knowledge about architecture as professional practice, as educational subject
and research platform. The architectural competition illustrates processes

The importance of the Design Studio within
architectural education is constantly emphasized. Recently, this became the main topic of
the European Association for Architectural
Education Annual Conference, held in The
Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto,
under the title: Design Studio as laboratory
for interactions between architectural education and society.
There are two major models for the Design
Studio organization – a horizontal or vertical
system – where the horizontal one includes
the students from one year, while the vertical
system gathers together students from all
years.
At ARCHIP, we follow the principle of the
“vertical studio” model in the organisation
of the Architectural Design studio. Within
the Vertical studio, all years cooperate on
and develop projects for a single site and
program, yet their scale, scope and aims are
different. By this, we believe we can simulate
the competiveness of real life architectural
competitions.
There are in fact multiple independent
vertical studios at ARCHIP running in parallel: four independent studios for the undergraduate and graduate students. There are up
to 20 students per studio with each having
a similar number of first, second and third

How many drug addicts are there in the world?
World Drug Report 2017: 29.5 million people globally suffer from drug use disorders,
opioids the most harmful.
How many people are addicted to drugs in Pakistan?
According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Pakistan has 6.7 million
drug users. More than 4 million of these are addicts, amongst the highest number for any
country in the world. Abuse of cannabis and heroin is rife in the country and the drugs are
extremely cheap and easy to get.
NUMBER OF DRUG ADDICTS HIGHEST IN KP
According to the statistics of the Directorate of Social Welfare department Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa , 11% people are using drugs in KP while in Punjab and Sindh they are
about 6.5% of the population.
Social Welfare department was working in five districts of KP including Peshawar,
Kohat , Swat, Dir Lower and Dera Ismail Khan, adding they have rehabilitated 1250
drug addicts only in Peshawar.

According to the technical summary report, the prevalence of drug use in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa is higher than in other provinces in the country.
Youngsters are the most affected by drugs and alcohol. Every individual
whether in a town, city, community, family, school or college is affected by
drugs and alcohol, directly or indirectly. Twenty three million people, mostly
above 12 years, are drug addicts who are are affecting more people around
them; for example, their parents, neighbors, siblings and friends etc.
In Pakistan more than 800,000 people between the age of 15 and 64
are addicted to use heroin on a regular basis, as indicated by United
Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). America is considered
as a country where maximum volume of heroin is consumed but
estimates show that around 44 tons of heroin is consumed every
year in Pakistan. This ratio is two to three times higher than US.
