The study investigates the electrochemical behavior of AA6063 aluminum alloy in hydrochloric acid, focusing on the efficacy of Schiff base compounds (SDB and MSDB) as corrosion inhibitors. Experimental results demonstrate that both compounds effectively reduce corrosion rates, with inhibition efficiency increasing with concentration and temperature. Data from weight loss measurements, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy confirm the adsorption of Schiff bases on the alloy surface, indicating their role in forming protective layers against corrosion.
