Getting Started with GFSI (For Manufacturers)TraceGains
If you have any questions or comments, please send them to connect@tracegains.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
Meeting Description:
Being compliant with a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized scheme can be a business accelerator, but is also often viewed as a daunting task. It doesn’t need to be.
Join our webinar to learn about the impetus for creating the GFSI, its benefits, and basic steps to get you going on the process to becoming compliant.
Karil Kochenderfer, GFSI’s North American representative, will start with an overview of the Global Food Safety Initiative and its benefits.
John Kukoly, Director of BRC in the Americas, will then give a general overview of what is required to begin the compliancy process with any GFSI-compliant scheme relevant to food manufacturers and ingredient processors.
Topics to be addressed:
-Why certification to a GFSI scheme matters to you
-Considerations in choosing a scheme
-The audit process explained
-Best practices for successful implementation
-Poor practices to avoid
-Key areas to focus on in planning and implementation
The webinar will conclude with both Karil and John taking questions from the audience.
About the Global Food Safety Initiative:
The Global Food Safety Initiative is a business-driven initiative for the continuous improvement of food safety management systems to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide. GFSI provides a platform for collaboration between some of the world's leading food safety experts from retailer, manufacturer and food service companies, service providers associated with the food supply chain, international organizations, academia and government.

Lipid-based formulations and lipid nanoparticles are administration strategies of increasing importance in the pharmaceutical world. On the way to a successful drug product registration, there are numerous challenges to be overcome – from formulation development to meeting regulatory requirements and submission. In particular, care must be taken to choose appropriate lipids with respect to their type, source and quality, as these factors greatly affect the performance of the final formulation and also play a role in financial considerations.
In this webinar, you will:
● Explore critical aspects relating to synthetic lipids as raw materials for lipidic formulations
● Learn strategies to minimize risk when choosing lipidic raw materials for drug product development
● Gain insights into tailored manufacturing and lipids with optimized properties such as conjugation of targeting moieties
Step into the world of culinary assurance with our comprehensive food testing lab. Explore how we ensure taste and safety, delivering quality with every bite.

Testing a Food or Beverage product is conducted for estimating the
presence of microbial contamination, change in the pH, sensory
evaluation, Shelf Life and the quality of the water used in the preparation.
Mycotoxins are a major hazard to humans and animals, often being found in a wide range of food and feed samples and causing cancer as a result of ingestion of contaminated commodities.

Halal Food Frauds and Scientific Authentication Final.pptxMaha Researchlabs
Halal Food Frauds and Scientific Authentication
Increasing public awareness of food quality and safety has prompted a rapid increase in food authentication of halal food, which covers the production method, technical processing, identification of undeclared components, and species substitution in halal food products. This urges for extensive research into analytical methods to obtain accurate and reliable results for monitoring and controlling the authenticity of halal food. Nonetheless, authentication of halal food is often challenging because of the complex nature of food and the increasing number of food adulterants that cause detection difficulties.
This review provides a comprehensive and impartial overview of recent studies on the analytical techniques used in the analysis of halal food authenticity (from 1980 to the present, but there has been no significant trend in the choice of techniques for authentication of halal food during this period). Additionally, this review highlights the classification of different methodologies based on validity measures that provide valuable information for future developments in advanced technology. In addition, methodological developments, and novel emerging techniques as well as their implementations have been explored in the evaluation of halal food authentication. This includes food categories that require halal authentication, illustrating the advantages and disadvantages as well as shortcomings during the use of all approaches in the halal food industry.

The day in a world/life project was
meant to familiarise the audience
with the breadth of services and
products that are available from LGC.
The brief was an open brief, where
two excel spreadsheets were
provided with the information the
client wanted to include. I was asked
to do ‘something’ with it, so I chose
to create an animated interactive
illustration. The illustration style, and
the interactive format, were both
new to the company, but proved very
popular.
Print posters were also created in the
same style.

Within my current role I have had
experience creating both videos and
animations. I have experience directing
people talking to camera, and making
them feel at ease, as well as knowledge
of the best setups for lighting.
The short documentary about
identifying the soldiers from WWI
using forensic techniques was popular
amongst the scientific audience. I
directed the scientists during the
interview, as well as filming, and used
other footage shot of a ceremony and
old photos, and edited this all together.
The outcomes video was created in
Flash. The information was provided
in a spreadsheet, and I was asked to
create a video from that.
I also have 3D animation and
modelling, as well as 2D Flash
animation experience.

I am able to create items suitable for
online use. This includes web banners,
interactive items and interactive PDFs.
I previously worked as the designer
for the international webshop for LGC
Standards. I created the site adhering
to the CMS div setup, but changed the
HTML and CSS styling to promote the
company as more modern.
I have also worked as a web
developer and email coder for another
freelance graphic designer, due to my
knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well
as some Javascript. Examples of this
(coding, not design) can be found here:
http://www.memyselfmore.com/

I also have knowledge of digital
marketing, and have created items
for social media use (for example
backgrounds and post items).

Since I first introduced interactivity
as part of the marketing materials for
the company it has been used in a
number of campaigns. The Valentines’
day hospital waiting room campaign
was particularly popular- with an email
click-through rate of 15% for the US
section of the market.
I have also created an animated disc
interface using Flash (and .bat files), for
the more traditional markets.

buttons, with links to related areas.

I have worked for a small start-up
company as an illustrator/animator
creating 30o
assets for Facebook games
using Flash and Illustrator. These assets
were bought or won by players to
decorate their ‘garden’ or entertain
their ‘pets’.
The company unfortunately no longer
exists, however it had one of the top
ten games on Facebook at the time.
