Digital professionalism refers to the competence expected of professionals in social and digital communication. Social media presents challenges like confusion over privacy and ease of broadcasting information. It can also make personal and professional boundaries porous. One's digital footprint, including their social media presence, may be of interest to individuals themselves, their profession, employers and clients due to increased job screening using social media.
